CountyLine Submersible Thermoplastic Utility Pump, 1/3 HP is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful little pump My wife and I bought an above ground pool and the pump that came with it wasn’t powerful enough to circulate the water. I bought this pump to complete the circuit around the pool and it has been awesome, especially for the money. The pop off screen helps keep the pump clean and is easy to pop off and on. Definitely recommend this pump for around the house use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have on a farm! I use this pump to drain the large water troughs in the barn and pasture....and wonder how I ever lived without it!! The pump will empty a 150 lb bin in less than 8 minutes, which cuts out baling or hauling dirty water. Absolutely clean and efficient. Will purchase more as needed!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pump worked once. Had one good pump outta this. Would only him even after clearing the air lock. Store wouldn't take it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Continuously stops and starts This pump is worthless. Within the first week of use, the pump stops running. It starts again a hour later, and then it continues to cycle on and off. In order to not have to get into the pond twice, I purchased another one. I then put the new pump in place of the defective pump. It IMMEDIATELY did the same thing. TWO failures in a row = worthless.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't work for gardening applications I bought this pump thinking I could set it in my pond and run a sprinkler in my garden. I didn't want to buy a big gas powered water pump because I only have a small garden. With one garden hose hooked up on level ground it did not produce enough pressure to run a sprinkler. With two garden hoses and approximately a 7 foot rise, no water would come out of the discharge. On the flip side, without anything hooked up, the pump makes a nice aerator for my pond....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased. I purchased this pump on Wednesday, began pumping my pond down with it Thursday and today is Saturday. It’s been running for 3 full days now sitting inside a bucket to keep dirt and debris away from it (laying basically on its side) and hasn’t had an issue yet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed out of the box! I drove an hour to TSC and bought this pump. Drove home an hour and test ran pump in 5 gallon bucket before I installed it. Failed out of the box! Didn’t feel like driving back to TSC so I took the screen off and the impeller was sticking. Worked it free and got the pump to run for a short period. After a half day of “Breaking In” I got it so I could trust it and installed it. Still pump stalled and had to be serviced. Can not walk away and needed to be watched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump Bought this pump to pump out run off tank to septic. I have used it several times over span of 4 years and it is still working fine. Burned up the smaller version but this one is more forgiving. Let it run dry unwittingly for several hours while I took a nap. Still pumping ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Horse I bought this pump during a basement flood I experienced. This pump was able to "save the day" getting rid of the water. Since the flood I have used this pump to lower my pool level and some odd jobs of transferring water. Overall it has been a GREAT BUY for me!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pump failed after 14 months I bought the pump 14 months ago and used is sparingly--to empty my hot tub. Recently, an oil slick appeared on the water and the pump stopped working shortly thereafter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use. I've had this pump about a week now and due to the rain, have had only one opportunity to use it. I use mine for transferring water from my ditch water (snow runoff water) to my garden. This water at times was very muddy to clear with a lot of sand particulate. This pump hummed along for over four hours without a problem. I was happy with the amount of flow out of the hose. I could use my thumb on the hose to direct water no problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after one use I bought this pump six months ago and used it once to cycle water and vinegar through my tankless water heater. When I went to use it again today for the same purpose, it failed to work. I have tried to locate a manual online but cannot find one. I intend to take it back to my nearby Tractor Supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent pump Used it to empty out a grey water holding tank, it put up with the abuse like a champ and pushed water up 10' and then 75' away like it was coming out a normal hose. Has a plastic filter cage that can be taken off the bottom with some effort for cleanout. Uses an impeller setup that would be hard to damage with muddy or dirty water, the filter wont let in anything big enough that could hurt it. Sandy or dirty water should pass right through it without damaging the internals. Pretty solid little pump for odd jobs or saving a flooding basement. Uses standard garden hose.

How many start up watts will this unit pull. I am running a 2000 watt generator.

Asked by: djorda
The start up watts are 4600 watts. So the generator must have 4600 running watts, so as to not destroy this unit. Do not look at the peak watts of a generator (which the generators are sold on), but the running watts for the generator.

Can I lay this pump on its side?  How far down on the pump (sitting upright) can water level go before the pump stops moving water?

Asked by: Crystal66
No, this is only to be in the upright position only. The pump will pump water till it goes down to about ¼” of water left on the floor surface.

How do I disassemble the pump to clean it out.?I used it for a tank that had some debris in it.

Asked by: The Silver Fin
To remove the screen from your utility pump, you will need a flathead screwdriver. Turn the pump upside down and you will find 3 circular feet. On the outer diameter of each foot, facing towards the inside of the pump, the screen meets up with the foot on a flat edge. Take the flathead screwdriver and insert it between the foot and the flat edge. Angle the handle of the screwdriver away from the pump to pop the tab off the shoulder it rests on. Continue onto the other 2 feet until the screen comes off the pump. Please note that you will need to be gentle as the tabs are plastic. If you use too much force, they may break. Please check your email for additional information.
