Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working great from the get/go I love the lightness of the mower and the easy maintenance. Easy start. The only thing that would be better would self-propelled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with the battery-powered lawnmower I have been using a corded-electric lawnmower for about four years, and while it has worked fine it has been a hassle to drag around 150-feet of electric cord. I bought this cordless lawnmower in July, and after two months of using it I'm very happy with the results. It is not a heavy lawnmower, so it doesn't need to be self-propelled. And given the shape of my lawn, a self-propelled lawnmower would be much more of a headache than a benefit. Not only does this get rid of the hassle of dragging the cord around, but it has been doing a better job of cutting the grass to a nice even length. I think part of that is that I'm able to concentrate more on the mowing, instead of constantly futzing around with the cord as I go back-and-forth on my lawn. And another part is that the wheels on the SunJoe seem a little wider than the ones on my previous lawnmower, so it tends to stay level even though the ground under my lawn is a little uneven in places. A few people have remarked that my lawn seems to be looking better this summer, even though they don't know I have the new lawnmower. I run the SunJoe without the clippings catcher, and (as some others have noted) the exit-path for the grass clippings tends to get blocked up when you're not using the clippings-catcher. This is more likely to happen when I've let the grass grow longer. The lawnmower starts making an odd little "thunk"-ing sound when this happens. This is a little annoying, but it only takes a few seconds to stop the lawnmower and lift up the back-flap to clear out the blockage. I suspect there are ways to make this less likely -- the most obvious one is to not wait a week after the lawn needs to be cut! (although sometimes the weather forces me to wait) I'm quite happy after two months. I'll be interested to see what I think of it after two or three years. As luck would have it, my lawn is large enough that the battery-charge dies about 10 minutes before I'm done with the lawn, but I have a SnowJoe snowblower which uses the exact same battery, so I can just switch batteries to finish the last section.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lawn mowing option We bought our iON16 battery powered mower because we wanted to go cordless and reduce noise in our neighborhood. The iON16 let's us do both! It is so much more efficient than our old gas mower AND it is quieter, does not spew fumes into the air and allows us to avoid storing a gas can in our shed. Hooray for the SunJoe iON16! It is a step in the right direction in so many ways!
