Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breath easy my wife who is a nurse asked me to paint a desk teal. After we carried the desk outside, my wife saw the spray paint and questioned “you are going to use a mask right?” I honestly had not planned on it since i was outdoors, but since i did not want to be in the doghouse i decided i had better wear one. I had a cheap dust mask and was getting ready to wear it when i remembered that i had bought the respirator a few months earlier (for pesticide application that i never performed) and never even removed it from the package. I found it on my workbench and went ahead and got it all fitted up. About 2 cans in on the project i saw my wife smiling at me out the window with a huge smile happy i had the mask on. When i had finished (10 cans total) i took the mask off and could not believe how strong the paint smell was and realized how much overspray was on the ground (and on the filters) I was very happy i had worn the mask and was relieved i had not breathed all that paint. I will be using it again on future projects.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic headstrap poorly made I purchased this unit for multi-purpose use. I first went to use it in my chicken coop to protect against airborn particles. Upon first application to my head the plastic head straps broke without any pressure at all. I made due for the meantime and it worked as needed. I will supplement velcro straps in its place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more black boogers! I picked this up a few days ago, very glad I did. Works much better than expected, comfortable to wear, doesn't smell like anything. While plasma cutting painted steel, I literally could not smell the smoke coming right up into my face-it was like I was outside. NO black boogers afterwards, after 3 evenings of use my prefilters already need replacement, would have been worth covering them with some tissue or something to extend the life. Attached is a picture of one after one evening's use. Glad all that junk is on them and not in my lungs! Plasma cutting, welding, grinding, and abrasive cutting in the winter time is a trade off between keeping the shop warm or ventilated. Now I leave all the doors closed, and keep it up around 65 all winter long without filling my lungs up with whatever is now on these filters.
