Does this come with a " Jump Start Battery " already installed??

Asked by: mrsgunnut10
No, this unit doesn't have jump start battery installed inside. The 150A engine start is coming from the transformer of the unit. The unit must be plugged in to AC in order to use the engine start mode.

why does it state 55 amp charge and selector knob does not show 40 amp setting?

Asked by: fixertim
Per Schumacher: "On the Dy-1420 you would set it on the same setting as the 140A engine start."

Will unit charge a fully dead battery

Asked by: Gary 1
Yes this unit will charge a fully dead battery. For a dead battery we recommend to start with slow charge for the first few minutes then switch to fast charge.
