Rubbermaid Feed and Seed 20 gal. Container, 1868861 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy them again 100%. Food grade quality. I ordered 30 of these containers for a container garden. High enough to keep out pests bc I live in an urban environment and the perfect height to stand up and garden. The lids are great for storing things. Some people think they are big but the bigger the container the more room my tomatoes have a chance to grow to their fullest. Very sturdy. Will last me 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Feed Barrel It’s a nice barrel. Holds two bags of crumbles for my chickens. Smaller than a trash barrel so it takes up less space, plus it looks better in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good container, not sure about lid Purchased this container to be kept outside near our chicken coop under an open shed for storing chicken feed. The first night out there something managed to take the lid off (raccoon?) but it didn't appear damaged. The catch on each side where the handles are for the lid is sufficient to hold it down in a strong breeze/wind, but I now keep a chunk of cinderblock on top as an extra measure. The plastic that the container is made of feels solid and durable; happy with that. The lid feels like a different type of plastic and I'm concerned that it will eventually crack or split after a year or so of being outside in heat/cold. Guess will have to wait and see about that. Also, the lid doesn't feel like a snug fit between the container lip and the bottom of the lid. Not sure if small rodents will be able to get in but it definitely leaves enough space for bugs to crawl under.

Where is the 20 gallon mark?

Asked by: Salomon1970
Freezing water should not cause any issues with structural foam. I have seen many people bury stock tanks before so I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to do so while putting rocks under it. Not a scientific answer but it should work!

Is this waterproof? That is my problem now, and trying to find one TOTALLY waterproof.

Asked by: carrotsnranch
This item is not air tight however, the lid is designed to snap on and has channels that prevent water from polling. It's not water proof if submerged into water but should keep rain water from getting in the can.

Can squirrels eat through this plastic?

Asked by: Oksie47
RCP is unable to guarantee that squirrels cannot eat through the container because the lid is a separate piece from the base and can be removed.
