Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bonding with Our Squirrels After years of defeat at the paws of squirrels we sought a rodent-friendly product that would urge our squirrels to let our bird feeders alone. This squirrel log is the answer. It's not a cheap solution, however, because the little gnawers seldom give the logs much of a rest. Nevertheless, this peace pact with nature gives us great satisfaction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Popular with both gray and red squirrels This is the first year that I've offered the squirrels these logs (first time using a squirrel feeder, too; I'm using the cedar one made by Royal Wing). I am pleasantly surprised by how much both the gray and red squirrels love this. So much so, that I just bought a second feeder. Yes, they prefer peanuts and hazelnuts and dried corn cobs, and they still get those as treats. But these last longer and are less messy and it's good for them to have something to gnaw on. I think the squirrels are actually bothering the bird feeders a little bit less than usual because they are so happy with their corn logs. I'm very pleased with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Squirrels and birds love them Squirrels when given other options ( peanuts, ear corn or seed) will go for other food first, but they like these blocks and so do birds especially blue jays and woodpeckers. Yes an ear of corn would be their first choice but those are gone in 20 minutes. Its fun to watch a squirrel with an ear of corn in his mouth running while others chase him, not so much when they fight over an ear of corn. These blocks stand the test of time and provide food for the smaller yearlings and less aggressive squirrels. Squirrels flock when there is fresh food and they sometimes become very greedy and territorial over food sources. Two hours later, there will be a squirrel nibbling away in peace on one of these blocks. These are fairly priced last for days and work great on feeders like the Adirondack chair feeder. Buy a 2 lb, 2 pack you'll be glad you did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Our squirrels won't even look at the logs!! I have been feeding my squirrels the corn cob kernels, but that can get expensive. So I had this bright idea of trying to save money and bought these logs. The first log I put out, the squirrels nibbled on the top. That was it. The second log the squirrels wouldn't even come over to check it out. Now possibly I have upper-class squirrels as they are fairly adept at getting birdseed and suet which could explain why they won't touch the less expensive logs. Love Royal Wing products with the exception of the "money saving" logs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pressed ground corn, holds up well in outdoor condition, but the squirrels don't seem to like it as much as the ears of corn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Educate your squirrels Saving money is a big issue with me and these logs do just that. If the squirrels don't have regular cobs of corn, trust me, they will begin feeding and continue to feed on these logs. They watch for me to put logs in the holders. Another plus, there's no mess. I would recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product My squirrels love them.  We finally figured out a way to squirrel proof the bird feeder, then I was feeling kind of sorry for the squirrels, so I bought a feeder and the squirrel logs.  It takes them about 5 days to devour the logs.  It's fun to see the birds and squirrels feeding.  And the squirrel logs aren't messy.  Great product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sorry to say but this just doesn't cut it. The Sweet Corn Squirrel Logs don't seem to be all their cracked up to be. The squirrels will occasionally nibble at the corn log but that is about it. I purchased the Cedar Squirrel Feeder # SKU 6850102 at the same time I purchased the corn logs so I'm going to give the ears of whole corn a shot, might as well seeing how I already have the feeder. I am a fan of Royal Wing products but I respectfully wouldn't recommend the Sweet Corn Squirrel Logs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working out this year I've been buying these for a couple of years, but the new supply purchased about a month ago have remained largely uneaten. My squirrels--who will even chew on my plastic lawn furniture which is why I started buying these-- gave these new bars a cursory chew and left them uneaten. I've opened two of the 6 packs I bought with the same results. The squirrels do, however, love the hulled sunflower seeds I put in the bird feeders.
