Royal Wing Peanuts Shelled, 3 lb. is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for keeping larger birds and squirrels happy This will be my opinion for the "In-shell Peanuts" because I accidentally reviewed the in-shells as if they were these (see Brown's Song Blend Unsalted In-Shell Whole Peanuts, 42179 for that). For the in-shells, I have basically the same review as the shelled, and all I can add to it (being for the in-shell, not the shelled) is that the jays thieve them so quick the poor squirrels rarely have a chance to get any. Best, if you mean to feed in-shell nuts to squirrels, would be to have a feeder that they know how to get into, and that the jays can't, or won't - however, I have found that the 3 or 4 kinds of woodpecker I get also like to grab an in-shell peanut fairly often, so try to find a way to accommodate them, too, if you have woodpeckers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No fuss, no waste This is a good quality, high protein food for a multitude of birds and other wildlife. Good for platform feeders, nut type mesh feeders or set a dish out and they will come. No shells, no mess! Whole peanuts and half pieces, too so smaller birds can handle them ok. Jays, Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Cardinals, Grosbeaks & Chickadees all love this.

I have a lot of wild rabbits around my house.  Would this be the best food to put out for them?

Asked by: Chris53
Peanuts in small amounts are okay for rabbits on occasion but should be kept to a minimal amount (more like a treat). Try mixing a small handful with hay and fresh vegetables like carrots, beet tops, parsley, watercress, or wheatgrass.
