RedStone 3-Pack Fuel Block, EB-2 is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 144.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fuel bricks Great fuel bricks. I use them almost exclusively now, and stock up when they are on sale. I can store them inside without any worry about spiders hanging out in them, and they really do keep us warm in winter. One brick lasts about an hour and a half if the fire is on full oxygen. When I go to bed late, I put in three and plug up one or two of the air holes with tinfoil to get less oxygen; it lasts longer that way and there are usually a tiny bit of embers left in the morning. Only downside is sweeping up the sawdust; inevitably when you take them out of the package, you make a bit of a mess. Not bad though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good replacement for firewood Don't take these out of the plastic if you don't want them to crumble. My insert is large enough to take three full packages. I load one, start a fire and when that pack catches, load the next two. I get ~6 hours burn per package, so that's 18 hours of steady heat. You will be disappointed if you don't get a hot fire at the beginning, and you need to be able to regular airflow to start a hot fire at first, throttle back for the duration and open up again to re-load with the next batch of fuel. Left to burn out, produces a handful of ash each 18 hour burn, amazing compared to firewood.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Messy to use RedStone Bricks come apart way to easily, Makes a mess, fine sawdust everywhere, must be better put together and burn better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent heating So glad I found this product, it heats better, lights fast, burns longer, better than wood, a must buy, going to use this product over and over.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again I've used ecobricks in the past, they were great. These things are compacted poorly, and smolder more than they burn. Messy and inefficient.
Date published: 2019-12-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option I have been burning these for a few years, sometimes alone and sometimes with firewood. They do sometimes crumble if you don't handle them carefully and sometimes split when they are burning. They burn hot and start easily. There is much less smoke and soot on the stove glass when I am burning these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from FALL APART!! use these to add stove load with small brick. Last load had one fall apart while loading. No complaint on burn but QC needs to be improved
Date published: 2019-12-19
Rated 2 out of 5 by from falls apart I used these along with the smaller version for years now. Unfortunately the smaller version is no longer available in the northeast, for reasons I can't understand, and these crumble when I pick them up. They also don't burn as well as the smaller version, often just smoldering . In their defense, they will often burn well once they fall apart on their own while burning, which cuts back on the burn time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Red stone Fuel blocks Fall apart as soon as taken out of the plastic. Will not purchase again.
Date published: 2019-12-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disintegrate into sawdust These blocks are not manufactured well at all. They fall apart as soon as you take the plastic off. Sawdust goes everywhere. They do burn, once you get them into the woodstove, but getting them in there without them falling apart in your hands is a challenge. Giving it 2 stars, because they are actually flammable, which they are supposed to be, but can't go any higher than that because of the mess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage terrible product Terrible What a mess they make. The bricks are very loose and not compacted well. They fall apart into sawdust when picked up or moved. I ended up burning them still wtapped in the shipping plastic. They burn quickly and do not last. Cost is double cord wood. Other brands are far superior, I wish TSC carried the Gren line.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I think this is a lousy and terrible product! The bricks are very loose and not compacted well. They fall apart into sawdust when picked up or moved. Size is too big. They burn quickly and do not last. Cost is above cord wood. Other brands are far superior, I wish TSC carried another line.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 pack fuel blocks Purchased fuel blocks in the past and for whatever reason TS changed suppliers. The current blocks being sold in store Woon RI are not the same as in the past . These blocks just crumble into a pile of sawdust when taking the plastic wrapping off. Making more of a mess than good. Almost unusable and will not purchase from TS again unless they change suppliers or product. I now have 30 packages of these that i would rather not use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great They burned but most turned to dust when i tool them out of the package Messy. Other brands don't do that. I hope Tractor Supply changes supplier, I need a better product.
Date published: 2019-11-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible.....! I bought these at Tractor supply last Winter and they were simply horrible. They explode into dust in your hands and in the firebox. They aren't safe to use indoors. Enviro bricks are packed much more solidly than these, much safer, burn longer...just better than these all around. I will never buy these again. Also, the Tractor Supply near me (Aberdeen, MD) does not keep any of their fuel bricks stored in a dry location. This caused them to become wet, expand and unusable. I had to go through 2 pallets at their store in the parking lot just to try to find dry packs. Water was literally rolling off of them. Come'on Tractor Supply. You don't know that these need to be kept dry?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Redstone wood fuel They burn a little quick copared to the eco bricks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best We ordered these to burn in our woodstove. They were not the greatest, and ended up being quite messy. We've used compressed sawdust blocks quite a bit and have had very good luck with other brands. These were crumbly, messy, cumbersome for our use, and just generally a pain. I don't know if we got a bad batch or this is the normal state of these blocks. I would open a package and the sawdust would end up everywhere, especially if you don't pick the block up just right. There were times when a layer would break off and the result was an explosion of sawdust all over me, the hearth, the floor, and anything nearby. I was constantly sweeping or vacuuming with these things. They do their job and burn, but not always efficiently. I'd pick these over too wet firewood, but they're far less efficient than other comparable products. (The brand with 6 small bricks were fantastic.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad choice Thought we would try these out, had used a different type before, these were less expensive...We would rather pay more! These blocks are horrible! They’re very messy, smell bad, much more smoke with these, don’t last nearly as long. We tried them, bad choice!!! Wish we had read some reviews..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great deal! We bought these blocks and they have been great! So handy to have around on super cold nights
Date published: 2019-03-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great in a pinch I ran out of firewood this year and ended up making the decision to buy the fuel blocks from tsc. I am very impressed with the way they burn. They burn nice and hot and get the house warmed up quick on a cold morning. The only reason I put 4/5 instead of 5 is because of the ash. They state that they leave less ash than cordwood. This IS true if you let the fire burn completely out. If you are adding a brick or two every 2-3 hours, as you would need to to keep the heat output, the pile of crumbled sawdust ash does pile up. As far as the burn time I am also impressed. I keep my house at 70 degrees on a cold day with one brick every 2ish hours. At around 10pm I’ll throw two bricks in and I’ll have a significant bed of coals at 6am. Overall I am impressed with this product. I will and have recommended this to others and I will always keep a few packs each winter to mix in with wood on those extra cold days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Crumbles and breaks apart easily These bricks crumble and break apart easily and do not burn any longer than the small bricks. Not recommended.
Date published: 2019-03-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Longer burn time I bought these for their size, they are not as compact as Envir bricks but last longer. I use primarily the Envir bricks that Tractor Supply carries and only use these at night for extended burn
Date published: 2019-03-08
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality control Compaction is very inconsistent with some bricks crumbling when picked up. The 6 pack of ECOBRICKS are compressed more densely, less messy and burn better.
Date published: 2019-03-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and efficient These bricks have simplified our woodstove use Although some batches of seem to break apart more easily than others, we still love the “clean” factor that they afford us.
Date published: 2019-02-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use with real wood, but more expensive than Good for quick heat. I use in my wood stove with real wood, using sticks and paper to start both. Does produce quick heat. However they are more expensive than last year - even on sale - by .50 - 1.00 per pack of 3. The compression is inconsistent making burning time inconsistent. The looser (producing more sawdust on the floor) the faster they burn. Overall, good to use with real wood but cost more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fuel These blocks are great fuel for your stove. They burn very hot and they don’t leave a ton of ash. I was not sure if I would like them at first but they are great for throwing on a fire that is already going. They burn much hotter than regular wood.
Date published: 2019-02-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome heat! Perfect fit, low residue, great heat! Easily stacked and love the price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very little ash We bought several of these a few weeks ago, and they were Great!!... slow burning, and plenty of heat given off!!... Left almost No ashes behind!
Date published: 2019-01-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Very reasonable price for the volume. Works great to keep us warm in a pinch.

Can you use this product in a brick lined fireplace insert?

Asked by: ricky01w
Please refer to the user's manual for the insert. In general, the information below should help you find the answer. Redstone Fuel Blocks can be used in any appliance that uses ordinary firewood such as fireplaces, wood stoves/inserts, wood furnaces, fire pits, camp fires. They are made from 100% clean hardwood dust and shavings (with NO additives) and compressed into "block" form. To use, start with 1-2 blocks added to a bed of hot coals and adjust your fire as needed.

On average, how long would one fuel block burn?

Asked by: Strony
These blocks are best used in a wood stove. If the air flow is open and the stove is burning hot you may only get 45 minutes to 1 hour per block but we recommend the stove be controlled to a more manageable heat range which will extend the life of the blocks to 3-4 hours or more. Stove size, air flow, outside temp and actual appliance are all factors in burn time.

Do these help keep the black soot stuff out of the pipes?

Asked by: Patic
Soot collection is determined by a few factors but these blocks burn dryer than firewood because they have 6-8% less moisture and, therefore, less ash and particle emissions.
