Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met expectations. Good portable heat. Works as expected. Easy to assemble. Great price. Heats a single wide trailer with one fill overnight and used 5gallons/4days. Great option for emergency heat (when our wood/coal stove needed repaired mid-season).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Heater is perfect for cold garages We use this heater to keep our attached garage warm so pipes don't freeze. It burns clean and we can work in the garage on cold days because of it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even the battery igniter works great! This is a great heater. I did not expect the battery powered igniter to work but it has worked instantly (1 - 3 seconds) every single time. The heater is easy to light by hand if needed. Expect the heater to stink the first time you use it as the factory oils/paint bakes in....but after that it has no smell while running. I am burning K-1 kerosene in a 5gal can from Tractor Supply. Quality kerosene (no traces of water) is key to having these heaters perform properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Redstone Kerosene Heater I am disappointed in the basic structure of the heater. The cage on the outside is way over large, and not very secure. The mechanism for shutting off doesn't automatically shut off as it should. The automatic lighter never works. On the good side it does put out good heat once you get it started.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what it says it is! This is an awesome heater. It has kept our garage warm and toasty even on the coldest of days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tractor Supply Danville The ignitor on the heater lasted one week before it stopped working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Would buy this heater again, warms my home quickly.
Date published: 2020-01-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Heater Nice heater, warms my 1400 square home with ease. Just a hint of fumes and smoke when first lighting and when turning off. It gets four stars because it does not turn off all the way and I have to crank the wick knob all the way off by hand. Assembly was very easy.
Date published: 2020-01-25
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Heater The unit took about 10 minutes to assemble. I kept looking for the wick for installation but the wick is pre-installed. Some of the parts were very light gauge but overall, it's a decent product. Fired right up after the wick absorbed the kerosene. Light it outside initially as it needs to burn off packing oils or waxes for about 5 minutes and it's going to smell. After that, it ran nicely with very little to no odor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good heater a gallon of kerosene lasts all day Keeps my garage about 65 degrees when it is single digits outside, it is easy to use and built well. I didn't have to build from a million pieces and doesn't smell horrible, the only thing i didn't like is the igniter didn't last very long about a month of everyday usage it broke, but a match or grill lighter works better in my opinion

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater Easy to assemble and works great. Heats a large area

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redstone 23K Kerosene heater The heater was very easy to assemble, filled with Kerosene and waited for the wick to saturate. The heater lit quickly and did not have much odor on first burn. The second time I used it I could not smell anything at all. I am very pleased with the heater, I would recommend this to anyone wanting a good portable heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best heater will keep you very warm This RedStone is by far the best heater wr have ever bought and belive me we have about 6 other heaters and this one beats all of them
Date published: 2020-01-10
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Quality Not as well built as some previous similar heaters I've owned. Wick was stuck, took about :30 to disassemble and repair. Works o.k. not overly impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Very satisfied with us kerosene heater it has met all my expectations and more. I live in a smaller house and it heats my whole downstairs and up my steps very pleased.
Date published: 2020-01-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well Works well, easy to fuel with the included hand pump, instructions were clear and concise. Heated a 2-car garage very quickly when the outside was in the teens Fahrenheit (be careful, as this small space was not ventilated enough to be safe. I shut it down as soon as it warmed up). We have an all electric house, and expect it to keep the house reasonably warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater Using this heater outside in a covered porch and it keeps it a toasty 80 degrees! Tank on high lasts for about 8-9 hours. On low you can get 12 easily. We love this heater!
Date published: 2020-01-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth running, no odor, easy to start. I purchased this heater for a Christmas gift for my daughter & her husband. They love it and said it is so easy to use and it give off lots of warmth. They have it on their carport so they can entertain outside when they have friends come over. I also bought them the kerosene can and suction hose. They purchased a gallon of kerosene at Tractor Supply last night. Said it runs smooth and not a bad odor like ones in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater Grear heater. Puts off a lot of heat. Easy to start. Runs for 8 to 10 hrs when filled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staying warm My house is All electric. Bought this Incase of a power failure and to heat a back room in the morning. Doing a great job. At least a great price.
Date published: 2020-01-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heater The handle feels like it s going to fall apart when I move the heater. The bottom try doesn't stay attached. The wick burns the fuel with a great order. This may be good for a warehouse or factory but not for the area that I am using it for. Not sure if I am comfortable with using the heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, small kerosene heater Easy to assemble, works very nicely. It's not very different from the same style of 20 years ago, but it still works.
Date published: 2019-12-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Heats the house quickly and efficiently. Instructions were easy to understand. Confusing the first time you light it but really easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Heater Awesome heater!! You can’t go wrong easy to use and heats up very quickly
Date published: 2019-12-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good emergency solution Takes the chill off the basement to stop the pipes freezing, I bought it for that purpose but doesn't get the room hot. Its my first time using kerosene and reluctant to let it burn out of fuel due to the fumes. Not really intended for indoor use unless well vented its more suitable for garages. I think a natural gas heater would be better but twice the price. It's just a stop gap for a couple of years until i fit a furnace, then it can go in the garage. Took a while to find kerosene at the pump but half the price of buying it in store, meijers sell it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heater This is our 2nd one. The first lasted 3 yrs and was operated daily through the winter months. Its a little louder than our old Dyna Glo heater. It’s easy to operate.
Date published: 2019-12-29
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so great Worked great the first few weeks then it just wouldn't start. Wick wouldn't catch flame.

When you turn it off it don't go all the way out or it takes a long time to go out.

Heater should shut off right away after pressing the shut off button the wick should stop extinguishing the flame. Please check your email for additional details.

Can you use regular kerosene purchased from a gas pump or do you have to use the more expensive K 1 kerosene? I plan on using this in a greenhouse.

Asked by: mjwc
We always recommend using 1K kerosene. Other kerosene options(at the pump) are possible, but we always recommend 1K. If purchasing kerosene at a pump, make sure to use a pump that is only intended for kerosene, and avoid contamination with gasoline. Kerosene needs to be stored in a container specifically intended for kerosene, not gasoline or any other container.

Do they al have an installed wick? Someone wrote a review indicating false info on packaging as they dont have an installed wick???? I've bought many over the years and all have an installed wick.

Asked by: Rick from Maine
The heater comes with the wick installed. You should be able to see it if you lift the burner and move the wick adjuster knob clockwise, which moves the wick up and down.
