Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slick wire Works great! We have ran miles and miles of this stuff to protect our goats from coyotes and so far it has held up well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusted in 5 years Anyone that has built fence knows how much work it is - to have it rust and break after only 5 years is discouraging - I have a lot of work on my hands , you would swear by looking at it that it has been neglected for generations . I will have to redo all this - very disappointing . I have emailed the company - I will let you know how they respond . ( also I don't use any fertilizers etc..)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tuff stuff I bought this to make chainmail and not only did it come in good time at a low price it is pretty tough stuff.
Date published: 2016-10-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 Years and No Rust I read the other review that mentioned that his wire had rusted. It this stuff is up when fertilizer is sprayed it can cause corrosion. I use only dry fertilizer and mine has shown zero signs of rust. That being said moisture the last three years hasn't been an issue. It worked for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! I bought this wiring to put up a second pasture because the first type of wiring I got was very flimsy...It holds up great & looks great! I will be redoing my first pasture with this wiring. I do all my farm shopping at TSC. Love them!
Date published: 2014-10-29
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but NOT so good I had purchased this wire to electrify my cattle fencing , the wire was working really well until last fall ( 2013 ) and the wire started to show signs of rust ( which the specs say rust proof ) and that is when my cattle decided to make a run for it because the wire had rusted really bad and wasn't working ! The wire worked well for about four years and then the rust took over . The specs on the wire doesn't say change every couple of years because it states rust proof !!! I would think twice before spending all of your hard earned money and time for a poor quality item.

Is this wire OK for an electric fence to keep deer out? How many strands would you recommend, and at what height(s)?

Asked by: Somersetman
Yes, this wire can be used with a fence to keep deer out. As to how many strands and at what heights, these are harder questions to answer. It depends on how strong your fencer is and what are you keeping the deer out of. If there is food for the deer to eat on the inside of the fence, that will need higher wires and more of them.

Will this wire hold goats in?

Asked by: Jon567
For an all electric pasture fence for goats, the manufacturer suggested 8 strands alternating “hot” wires and ground wires on 6” centers.

What product or item do i use to attach this to an inline strainer or to connect two pieces of this together?

Asked by: CTom8
There is a hole in the reel in the center of the strainer and you can put the wire in there or you can purchase a FW12 crimp sleeve to connect the wire.

What distance are wood post usually set at for this type of fence wire? Is 25 feet to far apart?

Asked by: gorgia
We recommend 10 to 20 feet apart depending on how flat the ground is. The more rolling the ground is, the closer you want to have them.
