Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Keepers I have some easy keepers and I love this feed for them. Small amount of fees but lots of nutrition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feed fits purpose I bought this feed for my horse who has chronic laminitis. He is a very “easy keeper” and is on pasture & hay only to help him lose and keep his weight down. He does get a vitamin supplement daily, but it’s hard for him to come in at feeding time 2x daily and have nothing in his feed tub when the other 19 horses are chomping away. He LOVES to eat! He only gets 1cup, but it satisfies him. I purchased this feed because of the vitamin/mineral content and the low starch. He’s been on it a month now, and his weight is great, and his coat is beautiful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for my old mares. I switched my two senior mates over to this about a month ago. They enjoy it and had no issues switching over. Since it’s only been a month I can’t say to much on the changes except one mare who was having more trouble than the other seems to be moving around better. Will update after more use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it So far so good. I have only been feeding this for 2 weeks. I feel like I can see her filling in some. Bought for a mare who just looked lacking. She had a big role belly but still ribby and poor looking on the topline. She has been worked well. I feed with purina senior and increased her work to include ground poles and I feel like she may be starting to fill in some

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for easy keepers I like being able to feed a smaller amount of concentrate to my easy keepers but still know they are getting adequate nutrition. Always make sure to read the product information so you don’t overfeed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Balances an all-hay diet- Happy with the results I have two really easy-keeper quarter horses and one hard keeper gaited mare. After trying all sorts of different grains/feeds for them (senior feed, beet pulp, alfalfa cubes etc for the hard keeper and maintenance for the other two), I stopped feeding grains for a while and just went to all hay, mostly grass with more alfalfa for my hard keeper. The hard keeper started gaining weight on just hay, but still looked ribby and my two other horses were bloated with hay bellies (they are all on a deworming program). As I was worried they were missing nutrients and vitamins they needed, I decided to try this product. I feed them all one pound a day per the directions for their weight, and after a month, my two fat horses are looking better then ever (much less hay belly) and my hard keeper started getting a better top line and has filled out nicely with muscle on her butt and her ribs are barely noticeable. It is pricey, which is the only drawback, but as I am feeding only a pound a day each, it seems to be providing them with what they need to digest the hay properly and give them the vitamins and minerals to keep them looking healthy and not too fat or thin. Even though it is close to twice the price of regular feed, it might save me money in the long run as I am feeding so much less and getting better results. Overall, I am happy with this product and I think it is providing them the extra nutrients they were deficient in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to feed I bought this supplement per my vets request to put weight on my Gelding. So far his weight is coming up. I wish it was a little easier to purchase in store instead of having to order it online an the only shipping option is to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I changed my horse's diet from a sweet feed to this concentrated feed; she looks, and I can tell she feels, so much healthier. Shiny coat, improved disposition, not as bloated looking...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over weight small Donkey Put my over weight small Donkey on this feed so he would get some feed with the horses. It has proven very healthy and now I am putting an under weight exrace horse to add pounds and strength to his body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feed! I am currently trialing this feed with one of my horses, who was looking a little under condition on what I was currently feeding. Within 2 weeks, I was seeing a positive change in her - her topline was starting to come back, and she just looked overall healthier. The feed smells very good, and my fussy mare seems to really like it. I will be switching 2 of my horses to the Purina Enrich Plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable product! Too many easy keepers in my barn, even with just grass hay and pasture. This way, I am assured they are getting the protein and minerals that they need, without having to feed large volumes. I would suggest weighing your feed, so you are sure you feed the correct amount!

I have a Dutch warmblood stallion who is a senior 22 he is in light work and on a senior feed but is very difficult to keep in ideal weight. He is a worrier and moves a lot in pasture. What would be your feeding recommendations for him?

Asked by: Dsecsc
Thanks for your inquiry. With the Enrich Plus, the feeding rate is dependent on body size. Typically it is suggested to feed between 1 - 2 lbs. per day. This is not a product that would be suggested to gain weight. You would be better to consider the new formulation of Strategy GX which now contains the Outlast gastric support. From the description you gave, he may benefit with having Outlast already in our product. Feel free to call if you have any additional questions at 1-800-227-8941.

I'm looking for a high quality feed to give my 2 and half yr old warmblood.  He's grown quite rapidly in height so I'm looking for a really good balance of nutrition to help him develop at a nice easy rate and keep him healthy.

Asked by: Joey22
Thanks for feeding Purina. The Enrich Plus will work well if you are not able to feed one of our other growth products as recommended. If you have further questions, feel free to call us at 800-227-8941. We may have other options that would work for you as well.

Is this for horses on pasture or on a dry lot? I need something to help supplement my horses that are on a dry lot...

Asked by: Kit331
Thanks for choosing Purina. If you have hay offered to the horses, the Erich Plus may be used. It will not contain any roughage replacement. If you are needing a complete feed to replace hay/pasture, then we do have some for this need. The Premium complete with roughage diets include Equine Senior, Omolene 400 and Equine Adult to name a few.

We have 2 mini horses and a mini donkey. Our vet recommended that we change them over to Enrich. They are pets. I am looking to find out how much is recommended that we feed each daily.

Asked by: K4057
With the Enrich Plus, you will feed 0.1 - 0.2 lbs. per 100 lbs. in body weight. Three cups will be equal to one pound.

Can this be used as a supplement/top dress or stand alone feed?

Asked by: Boot2006
The Enrich Plus is a ration balancing pellet. This is designed to be used for easy keepers to supplement hay/pasture. Or, you may also use this and add an unfortified grain such as oats for additional energy. And, some will use this to balance a diet if they are not feeding our concentrates at the minimum level. Here are the directions and a link to the pdf page we have online. Let us know if you have any additional questions. FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS: Purina® Enrich Plus™ ration balancing horse feed is designed to complement and fortify hay or pasture. The feeding recommendations are based on the following assumptions: an expected mature weight of approximately 1,100 poundsa and the horse is consuming at least 2.0%b of its body weight in hay or pasture (dry matter). a For horses that do not approximate this expected mature weight (such as miniature horses, ponies and draft horses), feeding rates for mature horses at maintenance can be estimated based on 0.1-0.2 lbs Purina® Enrich Plus™ per 100 lbs body weight per day. b Always provide a minimum of 1% of the horse’s body weight in hay or the equivalent in pasture.

I have a vitamin supplement (Smartpak's Smartvite Perform) that I feed while we are currently on Tribute Kalm N Ez, but will be switching my horse over to Enrich. Can I still feed the supplement or will it betoo much of some vitamins in her diet?

Asked by: jbean34
Thanks for choosing Purina. As long as you are feeding the minimum rate of the Enrich Plus there is no need to add a product containing additional protein, vitamins or minerals. The minimal feeding rate for a mature, 1000 lb. horse is 1 lb. per day (equal to 3 kitchen cups). You may go up to the maximum rate of 2.5 lbs. per day for a performance animal. If you need more calories to support body condition than the Enrich alone, we suggest transitioning to one of our other products.
