Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chain saw at a great price My boys and I used the saw on Saturday for clearing a cemetery for an Eagle Scout project and it performed flawlessly. Nice case included too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good chainsaw for the price i read other reviews and for the price it is a good chainsaw. my wife and i purchased it to cut up 2 40 foot trees that came down in a storm. it did a great job even on 12-14" diameter trees. good points- good quality for the price, once running has plenty of power, bought the 20" saw to get the nice storage / carrying case, bad points- the recoil mechanism for the pull cord was not assembled correctly at the factory and would not retract the cord properly. it happened 3 times trying to start it fo the first time out of the box, the quick pulls would bring the cord all the way out and it would not retract. i took it apart and reassembled it (wasted about 1.5 hours of my time) and it has not happened since. Also the saw is a bit cold blooded even in moderate temperatures. make sure you prime it per the instructions and i found after the first time it tries to catch you pump it a could more it would start. let it warm up per the instructions. the problems with recoil right out of the box is why i gave it 4 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Saw Saw sputters and runs bad. I've had 2 of them and they both are not good saws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unexpected Used a handful of times so far, on medium stuff under 16" diameter, cleared 5 downed trees easily. Got the carburetor tuned by a professional, non-ethanol premix fuel and runs great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw for work around house or farm. Great saw especially for the money. Just enough power to get through some bigger wood. The 20in bar is a good size that it works for all different size logs. If your running is for a while and stop it takes a few extra pulls but every saw dose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Started on the 5th pull right out of the box. Idles great and have had no issues. Recommend buying the 50:1 pre mix.
Date published: 2019-10-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waist your money Bad purchase and ended up returning only hours after buying. Very difficult to start and doesn't have enough power to keep running when under pressure. After about 30 minutes and having to restart multiple times, it would not start again. Looks tough and price was tempting, but performance was bad.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Firewood saw Saw was ok. I ran non ethanol gas and i have trouble with it staying running. Does cut decided just have to fight to get it to idle sometimes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw for the money This is a very good saw, i also own a small husqvarna saw and you can tell this one has the same choke / kill switch and carb style that husqvarna has. It didnt need much adjusting after it was broke in because they got it close from the factory. I did replace the chain with a full chisel non safty chain and it cuts great, very happy with my new saw

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from the PR5020. I bought this chainsaw a month ago and have been unable to start it. I have used other saws many times and this is the only saw I couldn't start. Because 12 days had lapsed, the store would not take it back. I was refered to a shop and he got it to fire and said there is nothing wrong. He held it by the trigger and pulled with his left hand. I can not do that nor do I feel comfortable doing that. Compared to other saws, the cord pull is much lighter. Like there is no compression. I am stuck with a useless saw. I bought another brand saw and it starts fine. Very upset and disapointed. Obviously, I had to give it one star because it wouldnt let me give zero.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I bought this saw today to cut up a tree that had fallen in my yard. I use a chain saw just a few times a year around my house and rental property. I can’t imagine needing anything more. For the price, it is a beast and cuts very well. Much better than the Stihl 210 that it is replacing and costs less!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made saw Picked up this saw yesterday and got it borke in today and i feel like its gonna be a really good saw, ive had good luck from poulan in the past . saw has a good bit of power for most jobs is well made starts runs and idles great.high and low speed screws were set good enough only a minor tweak needed to the idle screw since they did a great job setting it at the factory. On/off choke levers and carb look like the ones on husqvarna . i did swap out the chain for a full chisel non safety one. Think i will like it ,great saw for the price

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chain saw I have not used my saw yet. But I've had the same brand in the past and was happy with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Chainsaw TSC let me down The chainsaw is excellent, and works as expected. I would have given this a 5 star review, however there is no box, no maintenance manual, no instruction manual and no protective box for the chainsaw. I thought it strange and asked the service desk gentlemen and he said no no box? Thinking maybe my conversational talents lacking, I had my wife go and ask and she was told they do not do anything for the Poulan brand only the "Other Brand" they carry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware Would NOT stay running once it starts. Major oil leak as well. Returned 2 of them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chainsaw for the Price I already had a 16 inch Poulan Pro but a recent storm brought a huge tree down and I needed a bigger saw to cut it up. I was happy with the 16" saw but did some research on the 20". The ratings for the 20" were pretty good especially for the price. Got it home, fired it up and "oh yes" this thing really works well and some of the features I thought could be improved on the 16" were fixed on the 20".
Date published: 2019-09-24
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't stay running. Strong and powerful chainsaw when it worked. I made a total of about 5 cuts with it. After following all the directions and letting it warm up a full minute before use, it would not stay running. Everytime I finished a cut I would have have to go through the start up procedure to get it started again. I returned it to TSC. I did not get another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Saw Very good power. Chain is of nice quality but dulls quickly when cutting Texas hard woods. It starts very quickly. It does burn through fuel rather quickly though.
Date published: 2019-09-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used once, won't start. 0 stars. I bought this and didn't use it open it for a few months. It was easy to get running the first time. I followed all the directions. It died after an hour. I thought it was out of gas, so we just put it away. Today, I cannot get this saw to start. It still had fuel in it, so I guess it just died back when we thought it ran out of gas. Pretty unreliable.

Really like this saw. Just 1 problem----when replacing the blade, having a hard time getting it to stay in place. After replacing the cover and securing with the 2 nuts, the blade will not move--as it is in a bind. Any help with this

I have a Poulan Pro 4218 AVX (2nd Poulan Pro I have purchased). It works great. When it comes time to get a new one I want the same features. Does the 5020 have the same features. I couldnt get the picture to turn see the chain access panel.

Asked by: RAG2
Hi RAG2. The Poulan Pro PR5020 actually has a 50cc engine with full crank and standard choke and 20" bar with 40" max cutting width (vs. 42cc engine and 18" bar for the model you have now). The 5020 also has spring-assisted effortless pull starting for simple starts with less pulling effort - your current model does not have that technology. Other than that, they should be very similar. The 5020 has tool-less access to air filter and spark plug, a super-clean air filter system that extends the life of the air filter and reduces operator cleaning intervals, automatic chain oiler, reduced vibration handle, on-board scrench holder & carrying case included for convenient transporting and storage, and a 2-year limited warranty. You might want to take advantage of our extended warranty (3 years) if you purchase 2 canisters of Poulan Pro premixed fuel/oil at the same time you purchase the chainsaw. Premixed fuel is a really nice convenience (no more mixing). Receipt must show purchase of product and fuel on same transaction, and product must be registered online to take advantage of the program. Here's a link with info about the extended warranty: http://www.poulanpro.com/customer-support/extended-warranty-program/#cm=default,leadins,extended-warranty Thank you so much for choosing Poulan Pro for your outdoor power equipment needs. I'm happy to hear you really like your current chainsaw!
