Pit Boss vertical digital electric smokers are bringing innovation to backyard smoking. Control your smoker temp digitally with on our push-button control panel with LED read-out. Includes a programmable meat probe for monitoring internal temp of meat and vegetables. Our redesigned wrap-around lower element allows users to increase smoke, but also decrease smoking temperatures. Operating temperature range is 100° - 400°. The high setting also allows users to bake pizza, cookies and vegetables.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from pit boss smoker smoker is OK, it seems to hold temp. and the meat temp seems to be accurate. It seems to use quite a bit of wood, which brings up my biggest complaint, which is it leaks smoke like a sieve, the door,every seam, and the bottom. the outside gets a lot hotter when cooking than my old smokers. that said, it does cook meat and a broader temp range than most smokers

It arrived at the store when it was supposed to and the folks there were very helpful with taking it to the car and getting it loaded up. PB3: 3 stars - assembly was not an issue. Instructions were good and went together easily. Curing instructions contradict themselves saying to cure without water/wood and then to use it in the very next sentence. I have used it once and it stopped working after about an hour into the first use. Not a big deal, food was mostly done, finished it off in the oven and had a great smoked flavor. Now working with customer service to see about getting a replacement control panel since the loss of power seems to be intermittent. So far they have been very responsive and accommodating. I will update this review with how the issue has been resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little smoker Bought this a week ago and I’m on my second smoked meat now. The first was a butt and it came out awesome. Took about 12 hours. Smokes good, has a little trouble holding temp but it’s good for the money.

Who much wood chips does it take to fill this up? And how often do they need to be added?

Hey Cody, you want to make sure you get enough chips so the wood chip box is full (up to the top) but not too packed, it is does get too packed then it won't smoke well. This should last you about 2- 2 1/2 hours of smoking time.

Does this model use pellets,charcoal, or what to smoke with?

This model uses wood chips, pellets are too small and would not allow air to flow for the smoldering well enough and charcoal is more of a fuel. So it uses a electric heating element for the heat source and the wood chips in a wood chip tray for the smoke flavoring.
