Rated 4 out of 5 by from Self filling water bowl The bowl works well as advertised, maybe a little more difficult cleaning

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Idea - needs much IMPROVEMENT The galvanized tub will start to rust within months. It could have used a better coating -- food grade plastic, etc. The tiny float valve is about the cheapest on the market and has a small rubber piece that will disintegrate and cause continued leaks. For a few dollars more they could have used a much better brass needle valve. This unit will work for a few months.. but don't expect years of service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Does what it should, stays full. Only issue I have, and it's not a product fault per say, but being a metal dish, this gets hot in the sun. I dont have a place I can put it that wont get some portion of sun during the day. So I dump the hot water more than a couple times a day. I am on well water though, so the fresh water cools the bowl off instantly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Pan This is about the only place you can buy this type of water pan. I use them for my chicken and dogs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fresh water It has been nice to have an ever flowing amount of fresh water for 4 large dogs. It’s hot here in the south, and I’m happy to be able to have fresh water for them any time ther are thirsty

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog watering pan I have been looking for a system for watering my dog without having to use a bucket for a long time. This one did the trick. However I had to purchase a short coupling hose to attach to the spicket and then to the watering pin but it works great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, long lasting, great service I bought one of these 9 years ago. It eventually rusted through and I bought a replacement. I considered other brands but was quite pleased with how well this one worked and how long. It keeps the bowl filled with a simple float valve. In addition to pets, I get a lot of wildlife, birds, and honeybees. The manufacturer thoughtfully includes a second rubber grommet, used on the float to seal the nozzle. It's right on the float so it's visible to anyone who takes the cover off. Our water is very hard, and those grommets stop sealing after a few years. Miller Manufacturing stocks replacement parts and sells them at very reasonable prices. Contact them at customerservice@miller-mfg.com. They were very good to me. It's easy to buy cheaper products, but harder to find a brand that supports its customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap We bought three of them and the plastic fitting keeps on slipping loose and leaking like crazy.
Date published: 2018-04-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked I had this less than a year and the plastic connection now leaks. I won't buy again.
Date published: 2018-04-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good The water fittings on mine was very hard to get to seal I end up having to use teflon tape. I ended up having to return mine because the zinc coating started to flake off almost immediately within one week in random places around the bottom and along the water line around the entire Bowl.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic parts wore out in less than a year Worked great in the beginning. Seal where hose connected to bowl wore out in less than a year, causing water to over flow and keep running.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rust The material is made is not reliable. Rubber or plastic should be better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pet Lodge ever full dog waterer I had this product for years and it worked great. Once it wore out I bought a new one but it didn't work as well as the old one. The internal parts are now all plastic. I ended up having to buy another and almost right away it wouldn't work right. The quality of the internal float, lever arm, and other parts is not good and will not last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HOLES IN BOTTOM IT WORKED REALLY WELL UNTIL THERE STARTED BEING LITTLE PINHEAD HOLES ALL OVER THE BOTTOM AND ALL THE WATER LEAKS OUT WHICH MAKES THE WATER KEEP RUNNING
Date published: 2017-04-26
Rated 2 out of 5 by from great features I love these but i have to buy one every year because it rusts out. I think they should make the bowl out of stainless steel.
Date published: 2017-03-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusted I bought 2 of these and the heating unit. They both rusted within 6 months.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mostly ok. Works well, but rusts after a while. Nice to know the dogs always have water, but it worries me that they're drinking rusty water. Going to have to throw it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 Star because I can't give a 0 Just purchased this product thinking it'd be a good idea... Wrong! I connect it brand new out of the box only to discover it leak where the hose connects once the bowl is full. It was as tight as I could get it with the rubber gasket in place and still leaks. If you want to just have water running for your dogs I'd leave the hose on and save your money! You'll have the same result. I'll be returning this

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I bought the identical warterer 10 years ago and it was great. Bought this replacement and manufacturer has opted to redesign the valve/float assembly with CHEAP plastic valve. Absolute piece of junk!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from good idea but not good material. I get these for my dogs but have to replace every year they rust bad. Need to be made of better quality material
Date published: 2015-08-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from On deck First one I bought rusted like the rest of the reviews. I was desperate and bought a second one, this one has been in a more protected area on our deck and it is still in good condition.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It worked fine for a short period of time. Galvanized is not the way to go. It is not trust but collects green slime quickly. It also leaks and overflows. I have tried to find replacement parts to no avail. Guess I need to buy another one but not this type. Not worth the money for such a short time used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust holes I bout this waterer less than a year ago. Already there are small rust holes and it no longer holds water. Galvanized steel is supposed to last a very long time but this product is poorly made. I like the concept but not the material. If I can get one in rust proof plastic I might be interested. My dogs like to chew so I thought metal would be better than plastic. I'm not the only one to have this rust problem... therefore I do not recommend this product. No fault of Tractor Supply Hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful for thirsty dogs! We have foster dogs all the time. Mostly labs and this is a great pan that cannot be tipped over. Keeps fresh water all the time.
Date published: 2014-03-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusty Bucket I purchased this item to replace a plastic auto-water that was 7-8 years old and looking like it. I liked the large capacity for two big dogs. Easy connection to water hose. THEN after 8-10 months I noticed rust spots in the bottom and sides of bowl. After 4-5 months of cleaning out rusty water often, I decided to replace this. When I disconnected I found that the area where the feed hose goes into the side was rusted in a major way. So this is why my water bill has been rising for months. My professional occupation uses industrial galvanized products. They last for decades in out doors. THIS galvanized bowl is pathetically poorly coated to only last for 14 months. Manufacturer never replied to my inquiry. I am going back to plastic and would not recommend galvanized steel. Drinking rusty water can't be good for your pets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Milky Experience I purchased this automatic dog waterer for my dog Mollie. The first day it was a great experience, worked like a charm. However, I notice two days later, the water was a milky white. I disconnected the unit and rinsed it out and noticed a heavy slim build-up. I cleaned it very clean and two days later - milky white. Now after scrubbing with pads and everything else I can think of for the last two weeks, every few days, I can tell the galvanized metal must be a poor quality. It is corroding badly... Needless to say the auto-waterer is a good concept, but not if it harms your pet... I am contacting the company now, to see if there is a solution or a replacement available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good idea This lasted less than a year. It started rusting. Could not get the rust off and keep it off. We ended up buying the plastic one. Hopefully this will be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great purchase Very easy to set up on the patio and our dogs used it right away. Looks to be a great find and one that will keep the drips of water off my kitchen floor. Awesome..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DECENT PRODUCT Works great when new but dont expect to get more than 2 years use out of it. Mine rusted out where the hose attachment is. I will try the plastic one next.

I have 5 dogs.  We currently have a very large low trough for their water, but they continually jump in and make a mess.  Is the float in this pan protected so they can't try to play with it?

Asked by: Blue C
The PW13 has a shield on top of the float. This will protect the float and if something does happen to the shield it can always be replaced.
