Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coop This coop was exactly as advertised, and I recomend it if you are looking for a high quality chicken coop. One point I would like to make, if you watch the video on assembly, please understand that you will need at least 2 or more people to assemble. The shipping weight is 800 lbs and you will need help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coop. Exactly as advertised I needed a 2nd coop. My coop has too much air flow for a NY winter for the hens. I purchased this as my winter coop. The first delivery came significantly damaged in shipping. I refused same and the return went very smooth and a new delivery was promptly scheduled. Coop arrived (no damage) and driver was nice enough to move it from street to back of my driveway. Hardest part was opening the crate and moving each piece to where I was putting it in the yard. I put the base on pressure treated 2x4s that was on cinder blocks. I buried the cinder block and made the top of the 2x4 right at ground level so if I want to buy the panels they will fit right. I then took my time and made sure the base was perfectly level. This was by far the most time consuming part. From there with the help of my son (26) it took less than an hour to put the coop together. It really wasn't hard at all and it not only looks great, it functions great. They provided everything you need. Only tool needed is a power screw gun. They even give you the screw bit, extra screws and touch up paint for any scratches from shipping and/or assembly. I would highly recommend this coop. It is definitely worth the money. Very well built and easy assembly. Directions were simple and easy to follow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EZ large coop Best coop I’ve ever had this is second one for me. Won’t have to replace this one ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good coop for backyard birds We have a fenced portion of a fenced yard setup for chickens. An attempt at ordering a larger coop from a local shed place made me realize that both fences would have to have pieces go down to accommodate the install and they wanted to do the leveling themselves. This coop was not as big as I wanted, but it went it without a piece of fence removed and leveled easily. It is solidly built, easy to assemble and looks like it will last for years. I’m considering a second one to accommodate the size issue, having a village instead of a condo, because it was so much better than expected when I ordered.

Do the windows open from the inside or the outside? I saw on the smaller one a guy said the window opens from the inside. It would be more convenient if they open from the outside  instead of trying to crawl in there every day to open & close if needed.

Asked by: Cb61318
These windows open from the inside.

Can this be assembled/used without the legs underneath, so that the floor is on the ground?

Asked by: KGlenn
It can with modifications, I would not recommend it because the floor frame is not treated and should not be touching the ground. The posts are treated, if they are removed, it would need to be sawed off.
