Hay Maker 18-3-4 is a slow release liquid foliar fertilizer with Micro Nutrients that increases protein, yield and forage productions and can be used on all grass types.

  • Foliar feeding provides a quicker nitrogen uptake while our unique slow release Nitrogen, Urea Triazone, penetrates the leaf and provides two weeks of sustained feeding that won't wash off after a rain.
  • Our Potassium Acetate is the most efficient (84% absorption) and the safest (less chance of plant burn).
  • The sustained release of nutrients along with the amino acids increases photosynthetically activity in the leaf, increasing chlorophyll, resulting in a quick grow back and increment protein levels in plant tissue
  • Increases protein content — University Test Proven (21%)
  • Can be tank mixed with any herbicide and applied at the same time.
  • One 2.5 gal. jug can treat 3 acres!

Reviews

Organic Labs Plant Doctor Hay Maker, 2-1/2 gal., 134-041 is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you are growing Hay - Don't Use! The title is very misleading. I used this product and saw a 3 ton production loss on my grass hay. Take a close look at the lbs per acre. For example, for a 3-acre field it is applying less than 2lb/acre of nitrogen. My previous fertilizer was applying 60lb/per acre. I should have looked closer. A waste of money for my hay needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turned field brown I put this on 3 acres, followed instructions but it turned most of my field brown/didn't grow. I waited a month and put another application down hoping it was a fluke but still no change. Disappointed with these results. I like the ease of use with my 60 gal tank PTO sprayer (from TSC) but didn't work on my field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Increased my yield by 25% over other fertilizers Increased my yield by 25% over other fertilizersOn 16 acres are used 3 gallons and 310 pound boxes of miracle On 16 acres are used 3 gallons and 3 of the 10 pound boxes of miracle grow and my first cutting pulled in 98 rolls of hay This was a very inexpensive way to fertilize with exceptional outcome

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No difference! I applied it to 1.5 acres in a 6 acre hay field and saw no difference in growth!

Questions & Answers

Is this product safe for kids and pets (dogs specifically)?  How long is wait time to stay off the lawn after application?  What would be the complications if not followed?

Asked by: Jake867
Yes it is safe to use around people and pets. We recommend 24 hours so the product has enough time to absorb into the leaf. Product may be less effective if rubbed / washed off before it has time to dry.

Using a backpack sprayer, and not really having an accurate measure of how much I am putting down. can I just soak the surface of the leaves, to ensure the adequate amount to produce results?

Asked by: Nobody1234
The manufacturer advises that the label directions should always be followed. We do not recommend mixing the fertilizer and water without following the proper guidelines for proportion.

After application how long should it remain rain free.

Asked by: tankdvr
It should be rain free for 24 hours so the product has time to fully absorb into the leaves.

Can product be applied before first cut? Why only after first cut?

Asked by: Woodrow button tuck
You can but it doesn’t have enough benefits to justify the application. It would be more cost efficient to wait until after the cut, when the leaf needs the nutrients the most.
