Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great beginner hood This hood is really lightweight. It doesn't fatigue my neck at all. The two problems I have with it is that it doesn't use common-sized cover plates and hard-coated cover plates are not available for this hood, so I would not recommend it for everyday professional use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as helmets twice the price! I have had this mask for 3 years, and I use it daily! I work for a company that builds log trailers, and use it 9 he a day 5 days a week. I received it as a gift, and didn't have high expectations for it. It has proven me wrong! Only down side is Tractor Supply doesn't stock the inside lense, so I just trim a standard one down.

Is there a place to install a magnifier/cheater lens?

Asked by: Mike Sr
All of the Metal Man Auto Darkening Welding Helmets can use the standard 2 x 4.25 cheater lens. The wire bail that holds the lens into the welding helmet also holds the cheater lens to the auto darkening lens.

What is the optical clarity rating on the lens ?

Asked by: Bigbird1227
The optical class of our 8735 Series of helmets is 1/1/1/2. To help all that see this response, the DIN rating system grades auto darkening welding helmets in the following classes: 1. Optical Class - Clarity 2. Diffusion of Light 3. Shade Consistency In The Viewing Area 4. Shade Consistency At an Angle Each number in the sequence of 1/1/1/2 represents each area above. The grading scale is 1 to 3 with 1 being the best and 3 being the lowest accepted. So in this example, this helmets rates best in the first three categories. It ranks second best in the last category.
