Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome heater Works phenomenal ... had to turn down the pressure to 1# to keep flame from shooting out the front but wouldn't trade it -- heats space quickly. Love the built-in thermostat too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Bought this heater to warm up our garage when we work in it . We just turn it on for 5-10 minutes and our garage is a comfortable working temp during these cold winter months. Heats up the whole garage and lasts for along time before we have to turn it on again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent heater I bought this heater on Black Friday and have used it all winter. It’s the middle of March now and I am entirely satisfied with this heater. I use this in a detached uninsulated two car garage. I can go out and the thermometer says it’s in the teens, 15 minutes later it’s in the 40s and in 45 minutes it’s in the 60s. I set the thermostat low which keeps it in the low 60’s automatically. I did follow the directions and dial it back on the pressure. I first used kerosene and there really isn’t any smell. Kerosene is pricey so I tried diesel at less than half of what kerosene costs, they said it’ll run on it and it does just fine. There’s a very little smell on startup that goes away. I bought a digital CO detector to play it safe. I don’t know if my garage is drafty but not CO has been detected by the detector. I would recommend that with any flame powered heater you use it with a good CO (carbon monoxide) detector to be safe. This heater has exceeded my expectations and has enabled me to complete projects in this bitter weather I couldn’t otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size!! This heater is the perfect size for my wood shop in my barn. Easy to set up and use. I really like the easy fuel fill. Heats the space quickly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought 2, both are broke I purchased the 1st heater in the fall of 2017. It worked as it should thru that winter. When I tried to use it in November of 2018, would try to come on, but never ignite. Bought a 2nd one, same make and model, and it worked one day! The second day we tried to use it, the same exact problem. Either the photocell isnt working properly, or the igniter. Either way, I'm done.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought this as a fast heat source for calving. I love how light and portable it it so we can move it around to various areas of the calving barn. However, it still wants to "spit" out flames. I am going to return the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alot of heat for small unit Easy to use. Filled it up with diesel and plugged it in and turned up the thermostat, fired right up. I set it outside my garage door while working on a tractor while it was trying to snow. After about a hour had to turn it off because I was sweating. Was more than impressed with the heat output for such a small sized unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rattling McRattleface I have had this for a while, bought it back in January to replace one that was stolen and just got around to writing my review. Runs and heats great but As the fuel level drops the thing rattles and shakes like crazy. It always vibrates but it gets worse as the mass drops. You can hear it rattling over top of the roar of the flames. Took the shroud off but couldn't see anything obviously wrong. The fan and/or the shaft is off. Not sure it's worth taking back but over time I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't rattle itself apart. But if my history with kerosene heaters is any indication, it won't work more than a few years anyway. Other complaints. The thermostat isn't accurate. But none of them are. The fuel tank cap is real easy to over tighten. Sometimes I have to use channel locks to get it off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well for the first 1/2 tank of fuel. Purchased at a discount, marked "replaced igniter". Worked well for the first 1/2 tank of fuel, now will not stay lit. Maybe this one is a lemon?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work! Bought new. Did not work out of the box. Company wants u to call tech line & work on your brand new heater yourself instead of returning to store. I returned it to the store where they acknowledged they had many returns on this particular heater.

What "cool down cycle"? There is no mention of a "cool down cycle" in my owners manual. When I push the switch to "off" manually...it goes off...immediately. It works the same way on the timer.

Asked by: Sportdog
After the unit is shut off , the fan remains running for 90 seconds to ensure the heat is removed from the unit

Can I use this heater on a timer; for example, to come on every three hours for 15 minutes and then shut off... The thermostat control would waste too much fuel.

Asked by: Sportdog
Using it on a timer will cause the programming on the board to not work correctly and could be dangerous

What difference would it make if I turn it on and off manually vs a timer turning it on and off??? If I turn it off manually, how would that affect the programing? I answered my own question. I put it on a programmable timer and it worked fine.

Asked by: Sportdog
Do not leave it unattended as you risk the cool down cycle not running completely

Hello again - you did not answer my question - I asked about dyed "KEROSENE" not dyed Diesel... Thanks

Asked by: mitch77
None of the fuel can be dyed

I’ve been running mine with Kerosene, but it is getting hard to find.  Do I have to do anything special when switching over from kerosene to diesel?  Does the tank have to be dry of kerosene before switching to diesel to avoid mixing?

Asked by: Cerb1960
No, you can mix the two fuels , we often recommend a 30/70 split with diesel to help with fuel gelling when it is really cold
