Feeding Instructions:
Determine the proper amount according to the horse's age, weight, temperament and work load.
When fed as the sole forage ration, feed 1% - 1.5% of the horse's bodyweight per day.
When fed as a supplement, feed 4 to 6 lb. per day.
When fed as a partial hay replacement, feed on a pound for pound exchange rate.
This feed can be fed in a bucket, in a corner feeder mixed with the daily grain ration or even outside in a feed tub. However you choose to feed, remember to calculate your feed by weight not volume. As a guide, a 5-gallon water bucket packed full with our forage weighs approximately 5 pounds.
*Always make changes to your horse's diet gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days.

Manna Pro High Fiber Chop, 40 lb. is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Hay! First of all, this hay is high quality with almost no dust -- moisture content is perfect and I guess the molasses makes it extra tasty for our mini horse and mini donkey! We serve this daily as a supplement to their grain and the compressed bundles make it very easy to store and keep fresh. The only downside, which is expected of compressed bundles, is it can take a little extra time to break it up for serving. The combo of oat/alfalfa/timothy seems to make our pets happy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality varies in each bag Some bags are great quality and others are mediocre. Some have a lot of molasses and some have hardly any.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. I bought this for my horse with heaves. While she liked the hay, I didn't find that it helped her heaves very much though it did seem to help some with her weight issue (maybe the hi-fiber content). One of my other horses liked it but the 3rd did not.

The vendor does not recommend High-Fiber be fed to a horse with cushings. The molasses adds too much sugar to the product.

What is the shelf life of this chopped hay?  Do you have to be careful to not get hole in plastic packaging while storing (like chaffhaye)?

Asked by: Becky66
According to the vendor: "The product has a 1 year shelf life. If the bag develops holes it will not cause the product to spoil quicker."

Is there enough molasses to noticeable/sticky? Or is it just a light misting that you can't tell is in there?

Asked by: 3horsie
The Hi-Fiber forage is slightly ‘moist’ with molasses upon opening. If the bag is left open to the air the forage will dry out. The molasses is blended in, not misted.
