Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have product for pets!! This is an awesome product that allows your pet to drink fresh water on their own. My Giant Schnauzer puppy learned after the second time showing her how to get the water out. She uses it everytime she goes out, which saves me from having to clean out her water bowl everytime due to her being picky!! I would recommend this product to anyone with pets wanting fresh water at anytime!! Love it and bought 3 just incase something happens to the one currently being used!! I ordered one online and had curbside pickup but went in and bought two more while picking up the first online order. Super fast purchase and they called saying it was ready within an hour of ordering it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! My 3 dogs love this! One took to it very quickly but the other 2 needed a little coaxing with peanut smeared on it. Works perfect and does not drip.

How much do you have to turn the water on?

Asked by: Ranger69
You'll want to turn your faucet just enough for the water to come out for your pet(s) to get a drink.

will this work for a gravity feed system?

Asked by: lasen
It will but it must be a very large one because it takes a lot of pressure to close the valve and keep it from leaking. You would need somewhere around a 20 gallon or more gravity feeder. That being said, there is no guarantee that it will not leak with a gravity feeder so this is not recommended.

how do you keep it from freezing?

Asked by: courtney93
If this product is installed outside, then it will need to be removed in freezing conditions unless your pipes are weatherproofed. There is no way to weatherproof the L-100 Faucet Waterer itself, unfortunately.

Exactly how does this faucet work? How does the dog get water out of it?

Asked by: Surveyman
The dog will nudge the protruding cone to one side by licking it, and a trickle of water will be released.

what holds it up? Do you just lay it on the ground or put it in a bowl....? How do you keep from having a mud puddle below it?

Asked by: CleeL
The Lixit Dog Waterer attaches to a standard water faucet or hose for support. To reduce the likeliness of a mud puddle forming, we recommend using a water basin or drip pan to catch the excess water that is released during use.

can this be used on an Iowa hydrant in rural setting

Asked by: bka1004
No, this will need to connect to a hose with a constant supply of water for the dog to access it readily.
