Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product This float leaked past the cutoff right out of the box. Nothing you can do to stop it. You might as well put the hose in the trough and crack the valve to keep it overflowing. Same difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and easy to use. Had this product for over a year and had no problems with it whatsoever! no leaks and no issues. Very sturdy and easy to use. Liked it so much I bought another one for my parents to use with their stock tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, doesn't leak. Worry-free camping! I have two of these - one for keeping my chicken waterer full, the other for my sheep's trough. Both work very well. Installation is a breeze, and I have had no issues with leaks are over/under filling. This has made it a lot easier for me to be away from home for days at a time without worrying about watering the animals. If only this worked on my kids water cups!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 years of great service and still going I have this item on a round galvanized water tank. It has been outside in the weather 3 years and is still like new. You can not ask for a better float valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Product I bought this about a month ago, and it has been proven true to it's discription. We use it in our beef cattle tanks, and the hose is secure with no leaks, and the valve has been working perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy Assembly but leaks Purchased two, both have constant drips. Not sure if it’s design, lack of a quality gasket, or what. But wastes a lot of water. I’ve lowered he water pressure so it slowly fills, but it still leaks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning I have used these for years. I just bought a new one to replace a leaking valve (which happens too often). When I went to install the new one, I found the new one would not mount in the old location. Mounting brackets in new location. I had to make new holes in the mounting plate on the stock tank in freezing rain today. Not a happy camper. I would like to meet the engineer (?) who made this brilliant change. One star is too good!!! I will look for alternates next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't let it freeze! I use this float to keep my big dogs watered. It works very well, but with one caveat: You can't let it freeze. At least not if you want to use it again. The weakness is in the little plastic orifice/valve opening the water flows through. If that orifice has ANY water in it whatsoever and the temperature goes below freezing, the plastic will break, which renders the shut-off valve inoperable. This flaw was demonstrated dramatically for me this morning. My original Little Giant float had failed early this winter for the reason above. I replaced the unit last week. Last night we had what will likely be the last hard freeze of the year here. In anticipation, yesterday I emptied the water bucket and turned off the water supply to the float. It didn't matter -- this morning I found the end of the water orifice, filled with ice, broken off down in the bottom of the bucket. I'll replace the float again because it works just great when the weather is warm. It's just not suitable for winter use or cold climates. Even using a water bucket heater wouldn't solve the problem. Overall, it's a bad specification for the engineering plastic used to mold the valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves Time This float valve is awesome as it has saved me an enormous amount of time filling our stock tank. I never worry about the horses and cattle not having plenty of water. Highly recommend it.
