Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me! I have had several of these and they work well with the glass Mason jars. I set them on top of a 6x6 block of wood so they stay cleaner (the chicks don't kick as much bedding into it that way). I set it in the corner of the cage/tote to stablilize it. When they're small, I add 2x chunks of lumber as steps in front of the 6x6, then as they grow, they don't need the steps anymore. Just be sure when you're screwing the base onto the jar that you don't cross-thread it. I'll be picking up another one just to have an extra on hand. I love 'em!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works good for very young chicks This worked good for our day old chicks up until they were a couple of weeks old. After that I had to clean the litter out of them several times a day. The chicks knocked it over several times causing all the water to leak out. Also I was not able to make it work with a glass jar, the water did not fill up the drinker it just stayed in the jar. The plastic jars made for this worked great though. I wish I would have bought the hanging feeders/waterers to start out with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from wound too tight this product works fine but if you screw the base on the plastic bottle too tight you can mess up the threads and then it wont stay on anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Brooder Must ! I have a couple of these I have used in my brooders. They work well with small chicks who can easily access the water. I have never had a chick drown in this fountain. You can use the quart plastic bottles with this, also purchased at TSC. Or a Mason Jar. Clean up is easy with a little soap and water. They hold up nicely.
