This kettle looks good until you use it daily. Every time I've used this the lid has rusted fast to the point where you need a screwdriver to pry it open to add water. I got so fed up with it I tried to remove the lid to try and fix that issue and the handle broke off. Apparently, the chrome handle is not to be removed. I had a kettle that looked just like this one that lasted 40 years. This one didn't make it through one season.

We bought this to set on top of our wood stove. It works great. I wanted a large one so we don't have to fill it often.

I bought this kettle to use on our wood pellet stove during the winter for the humidity it will add. It's got a large 5 quart capacity, so the water should, hopefully, last all day without refilling. It's very heavy empty. I plan on just leaving it on the stove (on a metal trivet) and filling it right on the stove. I really like the attached swivel lid. I won't have to worry about dropping it when I refill the kettle. So although I haven't used it yet, I'm sure it's going to work great for the intended purpose. Also, it looks great sitting on the stove!!

Gift for Daughter/Son-In-Law. Works great, unlike cheaper/smaller one I ordered from another catalog and it leaked!
