JobSmart Portable Parts Washer, 20 gal. Tank Capacity is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well constructed Purchased on 3/6/17 in store. Carton was in poor shape (ripped open, corner torn), but I inspected components in store. Inside the carton all the items were packaged well for protection (i.e. molded styrofoam, bubble wrap etc.). Nothing appeared damaged or dented so proceeded with purchase. Only missing the manual which is available online at TSC. Instructions relatively good though no dimensions on the hardware provided. Hardware is metric. There are three bolt sizes provided. All same diameter just different length. Manual doesn't really go into detail here so sharing my notes. The shortest (qty 8) are for attaching the tank to the cart mounting brackets. That part was clear/obvious. There are two additional long sizes. 8 each of what I'll call standard (used to secure bottom shelf and the tank mounting brackets to the side cart frames). Then there are four more bolts just slightly longer (maybe 1/4") - not obvious when they are all packaged together in the same bag. My recommendation is separate all the hardware in advance. The four longest bolts are used to secure the middle drying shelf to the side frames. If you note this in advance and build accordingly should be a relatively smooth build, allow 30-60 minutes. Overall, very pleased with the quality of the assembly, components and hardware. Have not run the pump so no comment as to its performance at this time. This unit cost about 1.5 - 2 times as much as the non portable washer that is at TSC and common to other stores. In my opinion the portable has a much sturdier frame. When reviewing washers seemed like a lot of users ended up adding casters to their non-portable units. With the time/effort and cost to do that I feel this purpose built portable unit, although more costly up front, is well worth it and better design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected based on reviews I bought this unit and 2 drusm of PSC 1000 cleaner. I expected the pump to go out, but it has been a couple weeks of regular use and it is still performing as expected. Overall the construction is pretty solid for the money. The wheels make it nice in a small garage. Overall nothing to complain about. One drum of PSC 1000 got the machine running, it performs best with a gallon or two more than that in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still going.... Bought mine over three years ago and have used nothing but low odor mineral spirits. I have had to tear it apart about once a year to clean the bottom of the tank and the filter/pump/etc. LOMS does evaporate thus having to tilt the tank at times for the pump stays submerged. It is getting most expensive so I'm switching to a water based cleaner now, likely Simple Green Pro (blue) which I've been using in my little ultrasonic cleaner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the Price Even after the reviews about the pumps I still choose to gets this and well I am disappointed I did. Some of these pumps that people are complaining about not working isn't because they used the wrong solvent. Mine didn't work either using the purple power water based solvent. So I pulled the pump and to my surprise the hosing on the outlet valve to the spray nozzle was cracked through. That's some cheap equipment if they are coming in broken never being used. I'm not even sure I want to mess with asking for a replacement and just buy a new better pump outright.

Is anyone using this with the PSC 1000 Cleaner solvent. It says only water in the manual?

Asked by: Kanderson7890
Water-based or petroleum cleaners can be used so PSC 1000 is acceptable for use as a petroleum-based solvent.

If you can use oil based solvents (previous QA) why does user manual say “Use water based solvents only in the Parts Washer. These solvents have a PH of more than 7.”
