Rated 4 out of 5 by from great chicken Got chickens Feb 7 , I ordered 30,they sent 32. This breed so far,one of best birds I have raised. They are very tame, and friendly birds and far the poor shipment, ended up 29 making it over night.. We do not have a good US Post office. They arrived at post office, and if I wouldn't of drove 12 mile to town,at their closing time to see why they had come in. Only to find out the chicks had been there all day and wasn't notified. The chicks were very stressed and weak. Other complaint, they don't give you a option of what week you what chicks. As a whole I'm very happy with the birds. Not sure I will order through site again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a great experience! I had heard that ordering chicks through the mail has been done successfully for over 100 years so I decided to give it a go and ordered 10 ISA Browns. Three of them died within 36 hours of getting them. Three more just aren't thriving. One of them doesn't look like its wings aren't growing at all. Not sure they are going to make it. So, out of 10 chickens bought online, there are four that we are confident that will survive to get out in the coop. I am a diligent chicken mama. They have warmth, clean bedding, fresh water and the right food. We are trying electrolites, probiotics, and recommended extra protein. I just think they are weak birds. The eight chickens we purchased at our local Tractor Supply store to replace them, are doing great! I also wonder about the post office and the box they were shipped in. We got to the post office within 15 minutes of getting the call to pick them up. When we got there, the postman wanted to show my grandkids someone else's chicken order of 200. The boxes were so flimsy and just closed with staples that he just bent back one side to show us all the chickens. I noticed that somewhere in route, the box that held my chicks had been bent back too. I am wondering if this was part of the issue that killed ours. It was late winter and they may have gotten chilled or not treated with the best of care in route. The hatchery did reimburse me for the three that died right away but the chickens aren't the costly part of this experience. Sad to say, I won't order chickens from Tractor Supply online or this hatchery again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All 10 chicks received alive and healthy . I heard about this ISA Brown, that they lays lots of eggs. So I want to give them a try. 10 came with my other baby chicks I order, all of them were happy and healthy. All ten are alive and growing now 2 weeks later . I recommend ordering from Tractor supply.. Because of the free shipping and 48 hours warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicks I ordered my Isa Browns 1 week ago last Thursday. So far so good. The chicks were delivered to our local post office. In a small box. The chicks are healthy and doing well. I will more than likely order in the future. Such a smooth, easy process. Oh also I got free shipping. So it was totally worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicks! We received our first chicks, and unfortunately we had a few not make the first 48 hours. However, the hatchery was great about quickly sending us replacements. These have been perfect and growing each day. This variety was recommended to us, and not sold at our TSC store. Recommended to a friend as well who was looking for more chicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 chicks arrived faster than expected, 3 weeks old now and looking great. I lost 2 because of my own stupidity. Forgot to pick up a heat lamp and 2 got wet while at the store for the lamp. Be prepared BEFORE you order because they arrive FAST.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice chicks I am new at raising chickens. The order was for 10 ISA Brown females. The chicks arrived looking healthy and are doing very well. No signs of any weaklings, and no casualties so far. Based on this experience, I feel that Hoover's Hatchery provides quality products and I will order again from them, via Tractor Supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Customer service I bought ten chicks about a month ago. When they arrived a cold snap had come and five were to weak to survive the first 24 hours. I reported this to Tractor Supply and they replaced them at no cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They all died in two days, so sad! I bought 10 chicks and 10 ducks, got chicks on March 21st, when get them, 3 already died, others looks not health, first day 5 more died at deferent times, last two died on second days. So sad! Yesterday I got the ducks, one already died, but left 9 looks good, they like drinking like eating, until now they looks activities, happy and health. I think they are difference, when they shipped chicks is 30 degrees outside, shipped baby ducks is 65 degrees outside, and they’re chicks and ducks. En.... why they not shipping them together when the temperature little higher outside?

The ISA Brown is a layer breed and they are shipped at day of hatch so they are day old

Chicks are not vaccinated from the hatchery unless requested. This gives the buyer a choice to ask for vaccines or purchase medicated feed

I live in New England. Do we need to vaccinate ISA chicks?

Asked by: Bajwa
Thanks for the question. There are two primary vaccines for chicks and location is generally not part of the equation for determining the need for vaccines. Mareks is a vaccination that is generally used if the customer knows there is potential for mareks disease on their property. This is very rare so not a common vaccine requested. Cocci is a digestinal disease that can impact a chicken during its life cycle. This vaccine can be applied at day old to chicks or by purchasing medicated feed. If you wish to have this vaccine it is not suggested to vaccinate at day old AND use medicated feed as they will cancel each other out. We hope this helps you decide

How can I order mixed of both. Its live right? Chicks?

Asked by: Muzakkir
There are production packages as an option if you wish to choose an assortment of multiple breeds. If you wish to choose males and females together the unsexed option is the best
