Rated 5 out of 5 by from Isa browns great back yard chickens I purchased the isa browns a few months ago and im in love with these chickens, they free range great and are easily hearded back to there nesting area at night , they are friendly and have not damaged any of my flowers , but need to be kept away from the vegetable garden, they came in healthy and i did not loose any , suggestion when you get them you should put them on shelf paper for first few days so they know not to eat the litter , this way they only peck at the food. Only feed them chick starter for first 3 weeks to make sure they are digesting well before allowing them to eat other not feed them bread or cracked corn til they get older. They have turned out to be a very beautiful breed of chicken i wish i would of purchased a rooster as well but i only got hens

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only one survived 9 out of 10 chicks died in the first 3 days that I got them. 2 chicks were almost dead when they arrived. We did everything we could to try and save them. They all had food, water and a heat lamp. The post man even kept them warm for me before i picked them up.

Date published: 2019-05-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORTHY CONSIDERATIONS FOR SELECTING ISAs The ISA chicks appear to be a very healthy breed! The reason I selected them is because they produce more large eggs than some of the standard breeds, with excellent shell condition. Nothing is worse than picking up an egg from its nest, only to have it collapse in your hands...making a MESS of the nest AND your hand!

Chicks are not vaccinated from the hatchery unless requested. This gives the buyer a choice to ask for vaccines or purchase medicated feed

I live in New England. Do we need to vaccinate ISA chicks?

Asked by: Bajwa
Thanks for the question. There are two primary vaccines for chicks and location is generally not part of the equation for determining the need for vaccines. Mareks is a vaccination that is generally used if the customer knows there is potential for mareks disease on their property. This is very rare so not a common vaccine requested. Cocci is a digestinal disease that can impact a chicken during its life cycle. This vaccine can be applied at day old to chicks or by purchasing medicated feed. If you wish to have this vaccine it is not suggested to vaccinate at day old AND use medicated feed as they will cancel each other out. We hope this helps you decide

How can I order mixed of both. Its live right? Chicks?

Asked by: Muzakkir
There are production packages as an option if you wish to choose an assortment of multiple breeds. If you wish to choose males and females together the unsexed option is the best
