Rated 4 out of 5 by from good buy I bought this compressor after reading reviews and promotions on a number of different brands. it has been in operation for close to a month and have not had any major issues so far. air filter base had to be tightened, minor rattling of belt guard, pressure switch cuts out @ 132# instead of 135#. possible that it is gauge calibration? I use it for my home shop, running impact tools, die grinders, cut off tools, grinders, air blowers, ect.

Can an 80 gallon auxilliary tank be added to this unit.

Asked by: dpotenz
An Auxillary Tank can be paired with the primary unit but you will need to install a one way check valve between the two tanks so that the pressure doesn’t back feed toward the primary unit.

What size wire and breaker do I use?

Asked by: Dan333
Use a #8 Gauge wire up to 50 feet. If you require a longer wire, please consult an electrician. In regards to the breaker sizing, due to the various local laws and wire differences we do not recommend breaker sizing.

Do the SS4L5 and the SS5L5 share the same motor and have the same electrical requirements (21.5 amps @ max load). But the comments here say the SS5L5 needs more amps. Can someone confirm? I have a 40 amp service panel and can't exceed without more wiring.

Asked by: AC Shopper
Yes the SS5 and SS4 have the same motor and the same electrical requirements. The difference between the two are the pumps.

I am considering a blast cabinet that requires 10 - 15 CFM @ 80 PSI. This compressor is rated @ 14.1 CFM @ 90 PSI but 2 years ago another question was answered with the statement that the compressor is not recommended for blasting. Please explain.

Asked by: Bobo2
You certainly CAN use this unit to sandblast. Keep in mind, 14.1 CFM is the rate in which your tank will refill. If you are using more than 14.1 CFM, the unit will never have a chance to fill the tank, stop and cool down.
