Rated 1 out of 5 by from Follow everyones advice and avoid I WISH I could have found these reviews prior. I received this as a gift about 5 years ago. I have been able to use it (meaning actually get it to crank and stay running) twice. From DAY 1 it behaves as everyone else as described: Will not crank with no less than 30 pulls. By the time it finally cranks your tired. When it does crank it will not stay running. Once it dies, May Heaven have Mercy on you. My expectation for Husky is high, however this unit alone makes me question if I would ever buy another product from them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unusable Received this saw as a gift a couple years ago. If I had bought it I would have returned it immediately. From day one this saw refused to start with less than 15-20 pulls, and then wouldn't run for more than 10 minutes. After every 10 minute use, I have to take the spark plug out and clean it before the saw will crank again due to severe fouling caused by the engine flooding itself out. I have had it serviced several times with no changes. After actually being able to get it running and using it TWICE, it developed a severe bar oil leak that will drain the reservoir within a day or two. It is basically unusable for any purpose I have. I figured that some of the issues could have been operator error, or issues with this particular saw, however today after trying once again to get this thing to run, I looked up some information on it and found the reviews on this site. It looks like at least 50% of the reviews report the same issues I am having, so it is a widespread issue. I wouldn't recommend this saw to anyone, and will never buy another Husqvarna saw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hey Husqvarna,,, What is going on?? For a brand that used to be known as a quality maker of chain saws, I am extremely surprised that I have had so many problems with my chainsaw!! ** Its a bear to get started ** You can only start it with the chain safety off ** It shuts off even at full throttle ** It shuts off if you hold it vertical Now I have it being checked by Tractor Supply and we will se what happens, but I will guarantee you this ---- I am going back to Echo

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Luck........... I have owned this saw now for several years. I bought it strictly for light duty around the house work with no intentions or ever using it as a professional saw but this saw is a nightmare. I have been around MANY chainsaws over the years, both in professional and light occasional use settings and have never experienced a saw that is SO hard to start and SO hard to keep running. I will give it some credit, compared to other brands of the same size this saw does have pretty decent power and cuts rather well with a good sharp chain but DO NOT expect to get it out, fill it up with gas and take off. If you do get it started (BIG emphasis on if) don't let it die and don't cut it off because chances are it will not start back. I have cleaned the air filter on a regular basis, used non-ethanol fuel with top name oil mixes still with zero effect. I have also removed the carb, completely cleaned and inspected every part with still the same outcome...... Extremely hard to get started and keep running. If this saw would run when needed I would recommend it to anyone, it is reasonably light weight and seems pretty well balanced and vibration isn't an issue while using. The bar lube reservoir and fuel tank are both well sealed and I have had zero issues of leaking. Overall its a decent saw but with a junk carburetor. I would NOT compare this to the top end Husqvarna saws i grew up around!!! This is a "Box Store" chainsaw........

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent for the price I have ran this saw for 2 years and it has done fine. I use it for climbing trees and cutting small trees. I have personally ran the saw hard with daily use. I broke the blower housing case and just picked up another 240. I have been a arborist for over 10 years and this little saw comes in handy when your 60ft in the tree cutting limbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic saw for the money Some of these negative reviews are just over the top. I'm sad they had a bad experience but I can't relate at all. I've had mine for over year and probably only use it once per month. It starts easy, runs great, and cuts great. It's light enough to feel comfortable when using without feeling cheap. I'm not sure I would have purchased with all these bad reviews but I'm glad I did. I wish it had felling spikes and the plastic choke feels a little cheap but I haven't had any issues. Overall, fantastic value and I'm glad I bought it. It's a good little saw.

What is the difference between the 240 and 120?

Asked by: Dash73
Hey Dash73, The 120 chainsaw is actually the newer, updated version of the 240 with minor refinements. Performance speaking, the saws are very similar in that they are household, trimming saws. I hope this helps! Thanks for considering Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs!
