Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts through like butter We just had 6+ inches and the plows went by and the base of my driveway was very dense and icy. This cut through like butter. It also is very powerful with the drive train. It pulls you, you dont have to push it. Im also shorter so having the handle bars lower helps me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Proven in wet heavy snow I wanted to write this review because i spent two seasons fretting over buying a new snowblower. I had had two MTD snowblowers, one for my home and one for a cabin up in Wisconsin. Both were approx 20 years old and both are still going strong. I gave one to my dad, and was in need of new one. This Huskee is made by MTD and appears to be almost identical to the Troy Built Storm. Not much had changed since they built the other two blowers I own, and one is at my cabin. The new one is now at my home. However, like many other pieces of power equipment, you never know what it is like until you have to put it to use. Well, today was a test with 4 inches of the heaviest snow cone slush I have ever had to blow with a snow blower, and it handled it with ease. Since I blow one direction due to extra parking off my drive, some of the slush was blown two or three times, so it was a heck of a test for the blower. No problem other than having to go slower. I looked at blowers in excess of $1000 in my search, and I am glad that I bought this.. It does everything I need out of a blower, matches up with the MTD blowers I have used for 20 years. One pull start, somewhat light weight, price was right. If you are looking at this review and wondering if this is a good product, I can say it have used it extensively and it handles most anything i will ever encounter in Illinois. Even though I could have spent more on a Toro or an Ariens, this is more than enough to do the job. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it has a light and it is not an LED. Could not believe they compromised and did not have it converted to LED. Ooh well

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the hassle I've had my snowblower for several years, and have had my auger cable break four times now. The break is the same location each time: right at the metal hook into the pulley. I'm done with it. I need a machine that works when I need it, not breaking every time I have significant snowfall I will, however, admit that the machine is great...when it's working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like you would expect 1st throw. Fired up right away with electric start. Took down everywhere from 6" light snow to 2' drift and plowed area. Reverse 1 doesnt work and 2 is slow but not a big issue. The crank for the chute is kinda weak and would get off gears quickly but I had it assembled at TSC so once its cooled down, probably just needs an alignment and tightening of bolts. Great $, good unit.

Is this okay on gravel or only paved drives?

Asked by: Yes maybe
It is fine on gravel as long as the shoes (on the sides) are adjusted to lift the housing.

would this engine under horsepower b close to a 5hp or 7 hp

Asked by: supersal
Small engines, per regulation, are not rated in horse power any longer. CC is the size of the engine, and what is currently used. An engines CC , amount of displacement, has horse power ranges that are determined by carburation, cam, exhaust and timing. There are no formula’s for converting CC to horse power.

Is there a air Filter on my snow blower

Asked by: Kenneths
No, most snow blower engines do not have air filters. The snowfall removes dust particles from the air, so it is simply not needed.
