Rated 5 out of 5 by from 35 Gal Norwesco water tank This has been an excellent accessory to our John Deere Gator for watering plants and garden on our 10 acre property during recent dry weeks. The flat base makes it very stable. The two circumferential indentations keep the tie-down straps in place, so that it rides very securely. The outlet is readily adaptable to fit a garden hose, and we especially like the large diameter filler cap.

would this work for fermentation? I was really interested in the 35 Gallon Norwesco Inductor Cone Bottom Tank, but it looks like TSC doesn't carry it

Asked by: ABNGRNT13
Hi ABNGRNT13, You are correct, the 35-gallon inductor isn't a standard, off-the-shelf offering from TSC, but you can "special" order any tank through your local TSC store manager. They have a process in place for the ordering of non-standard items. Feel free to give me a call at Norwesco if your store manager needs any help. The tank part number you want is 45098 and the stand that holds it is 65517. Thanks, Bob 952-446-8807

How do I hook up a sprayer for this tank to use for weed abatement?

Asked by: fender3
Hi fender3, we don't have the expertise to consult on a sprayer set-up. However, you could certainly call Fimco as they are the experts and sell product through the TSC retail channel as well. Please call me if you need further assistance. Thanks, Bob 952-446-8807

I understand that the tank and handle water for drinking, But the question is it food grade keeps on coming up and doesn’t seem to be answered? Is the tanks safe to store other liquids, such as maple sap? Is it food grade?

Asked by: CavB
Hi CavB, Most resin manufacturers address food grade inquiries on a case-by-case basis. Certainly a common and popular application for our tanks is the storage of tree sap for the purpose of making syrup. Please feel free to call me directly if you have further questions about specific foods. Thanks, Bob 952-446-8807

Can I use this for my electric pressure washer  for my garage in the winter time?

Asked by: Rstic
Hi Rstic, You can use this tank as your pressure washer reservoir, just make sure that you keep your lid clear of debris as it has a ball check vent that is needed to allow air to evacuate the tank (otherwise you could potentially create a vacuum and implode the tank). Feel free to call me with any questions. Thanks, Bob 952-446-8807

Can you recommend a battery powered pump to add pressure? Have on golf cart to water plants. Not enough pressure

Can someone point me in the direction of the proper valve for this tank? Found a brass one with lead in it - returned it. Now made one from PVC, but am not happy with the gaps between the parts and solvent smell. Anyone know of the proper ready-made valve

Asked by: DaveG123
This tank has a ¾” NPT (National Pipe Thread) female fitting as a drain fitting. Any valve that will screw into a ¾” Female NPT should work fine. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not recommend a specific fitting for this tank or for any Norwesco tank.

Will a 3/4 inch hose bibb work with the tank.

Asked by: Victor Hz
The drain fitting on the tank is a ¾” female NPT (National Pipe Thread). You would need an adaptor to screw a garden hose to the drain fitting.

Do the feet of the tank have any provision to being bolted down, like on a utility trailer?

Asked by: Mark Monse
Hi Mark, There is no feature built into the tank to accommodate bolts. However, we sell bands that go over the tank and you can secure those to the platform the tank sits on. The Norwesco part number for the 35-gallon leg band is 60520. Tractor Supply can "special order" these for you. Otherwise, many folks use ratchet straps to secure the tank - which TSC sells as well. Just be careful not to overtighten to avoid cracking the tank. Please call me directly if you have further questions. Thanks Bob 952-446-8807

How long can potable water be safely stored in the container, and must the container be emptied in the winter?

Asked by: Adrian6
Hi Adrian, Our resins are approved by the FDA as safe for potable water, but no guidance is provided regarding a safe duration period. If the tank is exposed to winter temperatures, just make sure you leave room for expansion. Feel free to call with questions. Bob 952-446-8807

I didn't realize this didn't come with a spigot at the bottom. I'm having a really hard time figuring out exactly what I need! I just want to be able to turn the water on/off, it doesn't need to be anything fancy. What do I need to get?

Asked by: belle4397
Hi bell4397.. The bulkhead fitting on a Norwesco 35-gallon leg tank has 3/4" female threads which are on the inside. You can get a very simple 3/4" garden hose adapter from Snyder Industries (www.shopsnyder.net) - enter part number 34701309 in the search bar towards the upper right.. Also, for any tips on how to install your own adapter, there are videos on Norwesco's home page (bottom left) that are linked to our YouTube channel. Feel free to call me with any questions. Can I use this tank for kerosene?

Asked by: Sarah pooh
Hi Sarah, Petroleum products soften tank walls and aren't recommended as they would void warranty. Kerosene is derived from petroleum, so we would decline this application. You should consider a "cross-linked" resin (plastic gas cans are made of this material). Norwesco's sister company Snyder Industries offers these products. Please call me with any questions.
