Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I got this a few days ago and it didn't work right out of the box. So i put a new battery in it and it still dont work. I called hobart for support and I was told I'll need to bring it back to the store and that's 30 minutes from me. And also the head gear is not comfortable at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter hood I bought this a year ago for school and worked it hard. MIG, TIG, SMAW (stick) torch etc. This is a great starter hood or hobbyist hood. My only problem is the head gear. As one moves it up and down, the knob on the right loosens up and will eventually come off without tightening back up

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good helmet just the headgear is junk. Good helmet but the headgear went out about a month later. . I got the miller headgear 256-174 and installed it. Now it's great. Most comfortable helmet I have ever had.

how do I make it "auto darken?"

Asked by: Bebob
Slide the weld/grind switch into the up position for weld and set the sensitivity to at least mid-range or higher. Hold up to a light source with 12 inches of the hood and it should darken. If it does not darken, check the battery for 2.8voltas or higher. If the battery tests good then the lens is non-functional and will need replacing.
