Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job but difficult to put together Does the job but difficult to put together. I spent over 3 hours trying to figure out the assembly. The instructions and diagrams could be much better. Also the bale spears on the chain could be better. Like any skeleton elevator you will have a few bales fall off the belt but sometimes it seems that it takes a few tried before you can get back into a rhythm of loading. Also the metal skeleton cage is not that durable. My elevator was damaged by skid loader forks before I even picked it up from the store. If it holds up over time I will be satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase Found this at the last minute since my old unit crashed the day before I had a huge hay delivery. Easy to maneuver around. I strongly recommend the 3/4 hp motor. I installed one and it keeps up with the demand. Ill be looking for the 8 foot extension next.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two thumbs up This is my third year of putting up hay for my own horses on a small 10-acre farm. This year I bought the hay elevator, and what a great piece of equipment. Makes quick and easy work of getting bales into the loft. A piece of equipment this good deserves a name. I will call her Ellie, and she will deliver my bales unto my loft where they are quickly stacked with only three people who do not do manual labor for a living, making it easier to get friends and relatives to help bring the hay in. ;>) Seriously, I am very pleased. My 21 YO son and I put this thing together and set it up with no problem. It looks to be durable enough to do what I need, which is about 350 bales a year. Bales are 40-50 lbs.

My hay loft is 11FT to the bottom  (From The Ground) What is the recomended legnth that I will need? Will 16ft work well? or should i get  a 4 or 8 ft extension.

Asked by: mvonfish
The recommended length of elevator would be 20 feet for this application. The manufacturer also recommends getting the 4 ft. extension.

I'm ordering a 16 ft hay elevator and a 3/4 horse power motor.  What else will I need to set the product up.

Asked by: Rock1
This is all you need to get it up & running. HST12A bale chute is an accessory that you might want to consider but can always be added.
