Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a summer mix! Although the bag says this is for the South, it is NOT. This is a cool season seed mix. It’s not made to grow in TX summer. Not sure why Tractor Supply carries this seed in the summertime in Tx!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not so good For 3 to 4 weeks I have babied this grass seed, watered daily, no germination it is above 75 degrees to 90 daily down here, horrible product. It is almost like this product was exposed to a hard freeze thus destroying it. I would not recommend this product, bad thing is money, time and effort are all for naught.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seed took in 3 Days! If you prep the area correctly; rake, heavily water, seed, lightly rake seed to mix with the very damp soil, or in my case sand, water again, heavily seed the entire area one last time, and lastly, give the whole area a good drenching of water. I followed this process with this seed and 3 days later, seed had started to show signs that it was taking well. After a week of watering daily, the area was completely full with a thick bed of at least 3 in grass. Noted; this area was in direct sunlight, daily temperatures in the high 90's, and I was applying 40 gallons of water a day over 1 week; this seed crazy fast, crazy thick, and crazy green. Buy this seed and follow this prepping and watering process, and you will be golden.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stays Green All Year - Even in West Texas! We have used this grass seed since beginning the 25,000 square foot recreation area in our RV park in 2013. This grass mixture does great all year, whether the temperatures are in the 20's or in the 100's. We do have an in-ground irrigation system, which helps to keep it well hydrated, but while everyone else's Bermuda Grass is dying off, our lawn always looks wonderful. The only drawback we have found, is that each type of grass in the mix seems to find it's own microclimate in the lawn, and that's where each one thrives, sometimes giving our lawn a patchwork look of light and dark green areas. We overseed once or twice a year to help eliminate this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Guaranteed to Grow, but NOT to Survive I bought 2- 50 lb bags. Spent hours tilling the soil and spread Scott's starter fertilizer as directed. I followed the directions on the bag precisely. I had good growth within 3 days and was excited. I used a moisture meter on the soil to determine when I needed to water and watered the grass appropriately. Within 2 weeks, the grass had turned from brilliant green to bright orange and then it all died. Needless to say, the money wasted on this seed, the expensive fertilizer, water, and hours of time was infuriating. This seed can't handle northeast Florida heat and partial sun. Don't waste your time and money on this seed. I had to start all over again and used bahia seed. I now have a lush green lawn. If you are starting a new lawn in NE Florida, stick with bahia, you won't regret it.
