GPI HP-90 Hand Pump, 131000-1TSC is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick pumping I bought it a week ago and used it to pump out the fuel out of a 18 ft boat. Work very well and fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easier to pump than I thought!! Used a couple of times now and pumping diesel fuel for my tractor is easier than I thought, less effort than trying to pour out of my plastic containers!!
Date published: 2018-10-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast and fills tanks in no time! I was really reluctant to spend this kind of money on a hand pump like this but I took the plunge and boy was it worth it! So I bought another one for my diesel tank!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job. I don't use it much, but it does what I wanted, and easy to operate.
Date published: 2018-09-25
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted one year won’t pump anymore Bought year ago went to start plowing this spring will no longer pump?????
Date published: 2018-04-13
Rated 1 out of 5 by from only works above 45 degrees! This pump obviously has a design flaw that only primes when above 45 degrees fahrenheit. I've had it three years and it only works in summer. If you live in the south buy it , for the rest of the country north of the Mason Dixon Line - forgetaboutit! ):
Date published: 2017-12-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big disappointment I bought this earlier this year. Pumped less than a hundred gallons. The anti siphon valve is leaking and the tsc has no clue where to buy a replacement. Pump is total junk.
Date published: 2017-11-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hand pump Haven't had any problems with my pump.Sure beats dumping 5 gallon cans!
Date published: 2017-03-30
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good. I bought this pump in haste last winter to replace a 20 year old Tuthill electric pump that had been in service refueling equipment that whole time outdoors. This pump was only used infrequently as it was at home, yet the cheezy "S" connector snapped rather quickly and I had to make my own connector to fix that. Mine was double shear... unlike their idea with the "s" that bends back and forth until failure. The number of pumps before prime kept increasing with each use until now, a little less than a year later, it is worthless. Will not prime even after you have pumped until both arms fall off. The shaft seal packing is the issue. Bubbles can be seen around the packing. If you ever did get it primed, fuel would leak around that shaft as others have pointed out. I just ordered another tuthill hand pump identical to the one that has been on our 2000gal tank for over 30 YEARS! Buy something ELSE.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from gets the job done Just bought an exact replacement after my older pump refused to prime and pump. I tried to find a rebuild kit without success. I syphoned fuel once from my storage tank to keep my tractor going while I solved the pump problem. I still intend to find O-rings to rebuild the old one for backup and mobile fuel tank.
Date published: 2014-12-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from not bad for the money I bought this pump summer of 2007. It lasted until today it stopped pumping. I have had problems before with it not wanting to prime and pump the last year or so, but for the money it was a ok pump .
Date published: 2014-10-10
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesnt work real well Pumped 10 gallons of fuel and it worked fine. Next time I needed it, it leaked around piston and had to pump really fast to get it to finally pick up fuel and start pumping.
Date published: 2013-08-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't work in cold weather Don't buy this pump if you live anywhere it ever gets below freezing. It works great when it is warm, but when it gets cold it starts to leak around the connecting rod packings and then initially you can get it to work with a lot or really fast pumping for a few minutes. But now, in the second winter, it finally stopped working all together with less than 500 gallons of fuel put through it. Mine sits in a 100 gallon fuel transfer tank that is filled with winter diesel with a winter additive included, so it is not the fuel. The tank has always sat inside, so no abuse. Now i have a skidsteer with a 1/4 tank of fuel and have to go back to fuel cans until I can find a quality pump that will last for more than 500 gallons..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good for a while The two pumps, actually three that I have purchased from TSC, this one is the better of them all. Still not impressed. When the weather is warm it works fine. Once you get into late fall and winter, it doesn't work to good. I bought the rotary one first, then after problems I bought a better one, so I thought. I don't recall anywhere it said "not for cold weather". So now I have two pumps and neither will work. The fuel leaks out the plunger where the handle is, didn't notice this until it got colder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pump This is a great pump,it pumps with every stroke and fills my tractors fast with little effort and is very durable.

Would this pump work to pump round-up out of a 30 gallon barrel? Is it designed for that type of chemical?

Asked by: Brad56
No, the HP-90 would not be a good pump for round-up; however, our model HP-100-C item 114000-11 would work. You will have to special order this item, but TSC can get it. If you need further assistance or have any questions let us know! Thank you, GPI sales team.

Does this pump have a way to lock it with a paddle lock? I have a tank in the back of my truck and need to prevent theft issues, or at least provide a deterrent...

Asked by: Fuel up Willy
It does not, but you could remove the clevis pin and hitch clip from the handle and store it within your truck or wherever when not using the hand pump and no one would be able to use the pump. That would be my best suggestion for you otherwise you could probably drill a hole out in the handle and make your own lock of some sort. I hope that helps. Thank you, GPI sales team.

Can a filter be installed for diesel fuel?

Asked by: BAlv
We do not recommend filters with the hand pump because the hand pump does not put out enough pressure. However, you can install a strainer in-line, but note it will require maintenance depending on how often you use the pump and how dirty your fuel or tank is.

E85 gas damaged aluminum carbarators and gas tanks. Doesn't it have a risk to damage your cast aluminum pump?

Asked by: Birdhunr1
The HP-90 cannot be used for E85. We do have pumps for E85, but they are electric. We have two 12 VDC models one that is 8 GPM and the other is 15 GPM. And then we have one 115 VAC model that can do 12 GPM. These pumps are labeled as the methanol pumps and are nickel plated to handle methanol and ethanol; including E85. If you have further questions or need assistance please give us a call at 316-686-7361. Thank you, GPI sales team.

What is main difference between GPI HP-90 and the GPI DP-20? I know one is piston and other diaphragm. Does one self prime better or further? Vol per 100 stroke is only 5 gal delta. I'm transferring gas from 15 gallon tank but maybe 55 gal tank later.

Asked by: Birdhunr1
The HP-90 can put out 25 gallons per 100 strokes and the DP-20 can do 20 gallons; however, the DP-20 is designed for thick and contaminated fluids such as used oil or hydraulic fluids. Overall, the DP-20 is more suitable for oils whereas the HP-90 is more suitable for gasoline and diesel.

Asked by: Cue Ball
Hello, The HP-90 will work for windshield washer fluid. But is better used with petroleum based fluids. Thanks, GPI Sales Team.

Will this fit a 275 gallon fuel oil drum?

Asked by: Tom James
It depends upon the specs of the drum. This pump has a 2" bung leading into drum, can only transfer oil with a maximum weight of 10, and the suction pipe is 40". Its dry prime capability is up to 3ft. Anything more than that and you will lose suction.
