Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wont do anything to crabgrass Bought this several weeks ago. I applied at the 2.5 oz rate per gallon for pump sprayer for crabgrass and clover. It worked for clover but did nothing for crabgrass after 12 days. Just reapplied at 5oz per gallon plus added super sticky surfactant to the mix and after 5 days it has not turned any crabgrass the purple killing color. Guess I will wait for winter to kill my crabgrass since this not working. Just hate that it keeps spreading everytime I mow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won’t buy this again Bought this hoping I could get a handle on the few spots of crab grass in my yard and followed the directions . Sprayed my yard And 2 weeks latter it looks like I planted crab grass instead.

1)hello I live in MN and have established crab grass will this product work for it? 2)In what month or temperatures should it be sprayed? 3)I know some of it seeded out this summer should I spray now or wait until the spring ....or both?

Asked by: joebob27
Trimec Crabgrass Plus will control actively growing crabgrass. It works best when crabgrass is young and most susceptible which would be late spring/early summer. I would not apply this time of year as crabgrass will be dying off with the first hard frost.

Is this a pre-emergent or for use after the crabgrass has started growing.

Asked by: kkreutzer
Gordon's Trimec Crabgrass Plus Lawn Weed killer is for use in late spring/summer after the crabgrass has germinated and is actively growing. It is not a pre-emergent that will prevent crabgrass.

Will Trimec Crabgrass Plus eliminate yellow foxtail post emergence or is it only effective pre-emergence in the spring? If effective post emergence, do I need to add anything (surfactant, etc) to ensure adherence to the Foxtail?

Asked by: mcginna
Trimec Crabgrass Plus is labeled for control of actively growing foxtail. It is not a pre-emergent product. Surfactant can be added for better coverage on the plant.

I noticed a review stating the product killed his grass. Should I spray only on the crabgrass directly .

Asked by: old dude ar
Trimec Crabgrass Plus can not be sprayed on all grass types. If applied according to the label it will not injure: Bermudagrass, Buffalograss, Kentucky Bluegrass, mixtures of cool season grasses containing fine fescues, Ryegrass, Tall Fescue and Zoysiagrass. If the turf type is not on this list there is potential for injury.

I live in the country with 2 plus acres of yard. I have mixture of St Augustine and Bermuda grass. What is the best liquid weed killer/pre emergent to use that will control both broad leaf weeds and crab grass?

Asked by: ElmoJoe
We do not have a pre-emergent product for broadleaf weeds and crabgrass. Trimec Crabgrass Plus can be used on bermuda for post emergent control of broadleaf weeds and crabgrass but should not be used on St Augustine. Use Trimec Lawn Weed Killer for controlling broadleaf weeds in St Augustine. St Augustine is more prone to herbicide injury than other grasses like bermuda.

The Trimec Crabgrass Plus is not labeled for pasture use. The hay in that pasture cannot be used as forage hay this season. You must wait until next season to use that pasture for forage hay.

Trimec Crabgrass Plus is not labeled for use on pastures, only lawns. If used on a pasture, keep horses off the area for at least 30 days. Dogs can be back out on the lawn once the spray has dried after application.
