Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product I thought I would give this a try. I am so sorry that I wasted my money on this. It calls for 18 oz.for 3 to 5 gallons. I mixed 18 oz for about 1.5 gallons. It is very selective on the weeds that it will kill. Now I need to go and buy good weedkiller, my fence rows are getting overgrown. Do not buy this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont waste your money I wish there were zero stars I could give this review. This weed killer is a joke. It did absolutely nothing to kill or control my weeds. I mixed it just like the directions stated. "Year long killer", it did not even start to kill my fence row weeds for a week. Again, don't waste your money on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed I didn't read any reviews until after I purchased and used this product. I would not have bought it if I had. I have used RoundUp in the past and decided to try this product because the RoundUp fails to control weeds and grass for a year as claimed. After reading the label, I mixed up a batch per the directions for my sprayer. While RoundUp states rain safe after 30 minutes, I found nothing on the Barrier label regarding rain. I made a point of spraying when there was no rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours. I sprayed the snot out of the weeds, soaked them and the ground thoroughly after weed whacking so that the plants are damaged and easier to treat. After a week, there is no indication that it killed anything. Nothing has turned brown or yellowed. All the weeds are still green. To say that I am not impressed with this product is an understatement. With RoundUp, at least there is visible indication that the weeds and grass are dying after a day or two. With Barrier, there is no sign of it doing anything. If I have to wait for 2 to 4 weeks for it to start working, I will have to weed whack at least a few more times. I will probably be going to a different brand. Don't waste your money on this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good vegetation killer! I found that Barrier is a better vegetation killer than Round-up, imo. In some places the vegetation that I sprayed last summer remained dead this summer, but in other places it came back, I am not sure what the difference was. Overall I am happy with it. I use 1 cup per gallon of water and that seems to work well for me.

What is the proper mix for Gordons Barrier weed killer.

Asked by: Clutchy
Barrier should be applied at the rate of 18 ounces in 3-5 gallons of water to cover 1,000 square feet of area. This means we should saturate the plants and the ground around the plants to make sure we get the product into the soil for the long term control. This product does work slowly so be patient. It can take a couple of weeks to start showing results.

Barrier was accidentally sprayed in my flower beds, around crepe myrtles, magnolias, etc. Is there anything I can do to reverse the effects of it. It was sprayed about 18 hours ago.

Asked by: Need Help
Once applied there is nothing you can do to stop Barrier from killing the plants. In order to replant the area you will need to wait until next season or remove about 2 inches of top soil and replace.

I have azaleass planted around my house. I want to keep an 18 in path compleftly clear between house and bushes. I woild like to kill all vegatation on path but dont want it to leach out to azaleas roots. Looking for suggestions

Asked by: Hlp1810
I would not recommend spraying Barrier around any kind of desirable plants. It can be taken up through the roots of the flowers. I do not have a product that will accomplish this.

After spraying, and drying, and removal of dead vegetation can bermuda sod be laid? How long of a waiting period will it take before it is safe to lay sod? Is it harmful to small or large dogs either wet or dry vegetation if eaten by the animals?

Asked by: johnhervin1
I would not use the Barrier Year Long Vegetation Killer for this application. You would not be able to lay sod in that area for up to one year. I would use the Gordon's Big N Tuf. If you use the Big N Tuf you can lay sod seven days after application. It is not harmful to animals once the product is dry.

We are using barrier underneath the fence line in between horse pastures. They do sometimes eat there. How long should we wait before they're turned back out in that area?

Asked by: Stephanie31
Let the animals back into the pasture once the sprays have dried.
