Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn’t last as long as I had hoped Had these boots for about 2 years & the leather was just starting to wear out in the usual places I’d expect. Then one day the tread of the boot came apart & that was the end of them. I work in excavation & wear my boots about 6 days a week all summer long. I’m pretty hard on them but I was hoping to atleast wear them out. Not have them fall apart.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice boots I bought these boots because the last pair I bought was two years old and was awesome they took a beating but the new ones are starting to come unsewed at the top after one week of use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting comfort I bought this boot, or at least on very much like it in June 2002 for use as a wildland firefighter. They are still comfortable and serving me well. I have not been on as many fires as some but they are solid boot that has served me well. At this price they would be good even if you had to replace them every couple years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third Pair This is the third pair I have bought in about 15 years. I wear them for work and for a good steady pair of boots on the motorcycle. As long as they continue to make them, I'll continue to buy them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long lasting I’ve had these boots for over 2 years. Finally had to glue the heal together. Little super glue and good as new. I wear them all year long. Keep them looking good with a little polishing every month or so. Finally bought a new pair of brown low rise heal loggers. I hope they look as good as these still look. I deffinately recommend the black if you do any outside work as they are easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made in China never appeared in the description If I would have known that the boots were constructed in China, I would have looked else where for work boots. For as much as they cost, I would have assumed that they were made in America.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots, good price, some break-in required. The leather was very stiff, and the boots were a bit tight for me at first. After applying some Obenauf's Leather Oil, the leather softened up, a lot, but they were still too tight for me. After researching various online sources, I learned about a technique for stretching leather boots. You put a trash bag inside each boot, fill them up with water, and place them in a freezer (or outdoors, if you live in the North Country). When the water freezes, it expands with a great deal of force and stretches out the leather. For some reason related to the properties of full grain leather, it remains stretched out. It does not contract back to its original size. Of course, if I had purchased a 1/2 size larger, that also might've solved the problem, but I got a discounted online deal and did not want to incur any shipping charges, or to lose my discount, by sending them back. In any event, they now fit perfectly, and the leather is softer and more comfortable. No more blisters, and I am happy with the boots. These are a simple, but also well made boot, with no frills (no thinsulate, no goretex, no extra padding on the footbed. They do have a steel toe (these are my work boots). I achieve waterproofing with the Obenauf's Oil, which also preserves, protects, and softens the leather. I also applied some beeswax (sno-seal product) to the seams and the welt. This combination is perfectly waterproof, and - as long as I am active - they are warm enough for most of the winter. My feet warm up from being active. There may be some days, when it drops down below 10 F, during which I would prefer to have some thinsulate, but those are relatively rare in my area. For my purposes, these are usually warm enough, and I appreciate saving $$$ by not buying thinsulate. Also, I do have some thinsulate hunting boots for those very cold days. A simple, good quality work boot. For the discounted price, I am pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Boots with some Issues ! A good Boot that has lasted a few years . There are only two draw backs that I have had in the Past . 1 the Lining that covers the Steel Toe will Tare before too Long causing holes in your sock's so be ready to buy a lot of socks . And 2 when the sole wears down enough some of the screws on the sole will Dig into your Feet something Georgia has not fixed yet .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable The boots came in a few days ago and they are very comfortable. I also noticed that my back pain has subsided quite a bit. Being an ironworker, I take my footwear to the limits. The soles have great traction when walking the iron. The ankle protection is second to none. I also like the fact that the soles can be replaced once the originals wear down. I will update my review I a few months. But so far they are wonderful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stiff and rough stitching in the heel. My husband and I have worn Georgia logger boots for years. We each got a new pair a few weeks ago and they wore deep chafe/holes on the backs of our heels. The leather seems thinner than the other Georgia boots we have had and the stitching was very rough. My husband tried to wear his for a few days and even tried an extra pair of socks but it didn't help. I wore my pair to work one day and could barely walk by the end of the day. On a more positive note, the customer service person was very helpful and they returned the boots without any problem and with free shipping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall very much what I wanted! I bought these a few weeks ago and I love them. Very stylish, comfortable to break in, and very sturdy. The only reason I give them 4/5 and not 5/5 is the eyelets at the top half of the boot (the ones that are sort of open, the shoelace just hooks around them). I guess I walk with my feet too close together, because I occasionally get my shoes caught together by the eyelets. One of them has broken because of it (just the eyelet, it still works though, the metal base of the eyelet is still attached) and honestly I'd rather they just use the same eyelets all the way across the boot (like the ones on the bottom half of the laces).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you're looking for a boot that breaks in easy and doesn't make your feet hurt. Georgia boots are the boot for you! The black of a new pair of loggers is very nice. You could almost consider it dressy. If your wearing jeans and a nice shirt a new pair of Georgia loggers go very well. I'm very hard on my work boots these boots last longer then any other brand I have tried. They usually last me about two years. They are a comfortable work boot. If you are unsure of what type you're looking for I say give these boots a try.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly constructed I bought two pairs of these boots 6 months ago, I am sorry to say that I am very unsatisfied. I work in the maritime industry 12 hour shifts in all weather, if any boot would be put to the test this industry is it. The screws in the soul have worn through to the bottom of my foot on both pairs, making things extremely uncomfortable. Steel toe is starting rub against my big toe, the heals are starting to come off both pairs, and lastly the leather does seem durable but stretches giving them a "floppy" appearance. I do abuse my work boots but that's also why at pay good money, I've been wearing redwing loggers USA made for the past ten or so years and figured I'd try and switch things up. So I bought two pairs of these for what I would've paid for one pair of redwings. My advice pay the extra $150 for a pair of redwings.

are they stitched instead or glue soles

Asked by: doggriguez
They are Goodyear Welted construction. so yes they are stitched. "a method of shoe construction in which the insole, upper, and welt are sewed together and the welt is then stitched to the outsole so as to leave the upper surface of the insole free of tacks and stitches"
