Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend! I got this bucket for my horse and it has worked out great! No issues at all!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! Rugged bucket with protected cord is ideal for New England winters.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not warm enough in sub zero I have one of these and 2 of the other plastic buckets. When -21 in barn, the plastic ones didn't have any ice. This one the water was slush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor design lousy customer service! I purchased two of the FB -15R's from TSC. I used both of them in the month of January last year and they worked as described. Store them for the summer. Went to use them again this January and neither one would work. I ended up calling Farm Innovators customer service, they walked me through a process to reset the thermostat which did not work. The lady I spoke to was very rude and hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. I would not recommend this bucket because of poor design, and even worse customer service.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice rubber bucket, poor design the cord exits the rear of the bucket at the bottom. if the bucket is hung in a stall the cord is continually pinched against the wall and will eventually short or fail completely. most competitors buckets are designed so the cord exits the bucket near one flat corner on the rear of the bucket to prevent this problem. i bought two of these buckets less than two yers ago and both have failed. the rubber bucket, by itself, is good quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great when they work. I bought 2 of these last winter. 1 stayed unfrozen (in the barn) one in the chicken coop kept freezing so I had to replace it. The new bucket doesn’t freeze. I bought a new one this year to be kept outside for my ducks. Worked for a few weeks and now for the past 3 days it’s frozen by morning. Ill have to exchange it again. I really wish that the product wasn’t so unreliable. My ducks went half the day without water (it wasn’t frozen that morning, by 4 it was frozen). By the reviews it seems very unreliable for others as well. For the price they could really be made better. There isn’t a seal on my buckets either like noted by another review and it bubbles when I first filled them up. Who knows what’s lingering in the heating element that’s causing them to stop working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality materials & works great!! Ordered online for in store pickup which made this super convenient. We needed a bucket that wouldn't freeze for our pet duck's. I love the flexible rubber. It does not get hot it just keeps the water from freezing. The cord is a nice length and wrapped in a durable protector. Very happy with this product and ease of store pickup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and we'll made Bought this because water was freezing inside the barn. Saves me so much time having to thaw out .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cold weather bucket for all farmyard animals Great quality bucket. Way better than the plastic kind that get brittle and break in the cold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All around "Very Poor Design" Bought two of these to replace the Blue plastic heated buckets that last maybe a season before cracking. You would think that if you were designing a heated bucket, you would figure out that it is going to be used in the winter and make it out of a material that wouldn't crack when it gets cold (but I digress). I thought that the rubber design would be better. Well maybe it is, but for a very poor design, we will never know how long it would have lasted. There are three problems. 1) The attachment of the cord is sub-par. As shown in the picture there is no strain relief on the cord where the main outer insulation is present. I'm not sure how that got past the UL inspectors. 2) The plastic cord protector won’t deter a horse from biting the cable any more than the plastic wire insulation would. The one thing that the blue buckets had going for them was the cord, how it is connected and the metal spring wrapped around it. 3) AND THIS IS A DEAL BREAKER; The heating element at the bottom of the bucket is not sealed, and water and crud get in around and behind it (see pic #2). Once there, there is no way to clean it out. Horses are not the cleanest animals when it comes to their food and drink (hence you chew like a horse:-). So all of the stuff that they drop into the buck goes to the bottom, past the heating element with no seal, an stays there for the rest of eternity. Or in our case until you can't stand the smell of the bucket any longer no matter how much you try to clean it. I just brought these out to see if there is any way to fix these. As I looked at them, they both have water from last winter still inside the the heating element. Not behind it, but inside it! I can’t in all good conscience, let my horses drink from these. So once again I’m on the hunt for more heated buckets. I really wish that the folks that design these buckets actually had horses and lived in a cold climate. Maybe then, a heated stall bucket that works and lasts would be designed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First bucket worked well but it split and started to rust through on the side near the bottom of the bucket. It was 4 years old so I would say I got my money's worth. Hopefully we can get another 4 years out of this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horse Chewed through the electric cord. I hope our experience will save other people grief. at best a waste of money, as our horse chewed through the electric cord. A rubber heated watering bucket is a good idea, but this item seems is very poorly executed. Plastic Heated buckets tend to crack in the cold or if mishandled where as a rubber bucket can flex and the black rubber absorbs heat in sunlight. This should be a good product, if the cord were still protected with more chew resistant metal wire, as it seems in the photo. The Bucket purchased was protected by a plastic sheath. The electric cord is only protected with plastic sheathing similar to what is done with automotive wiring but not split lengthwise. There is strain relief around the Cord entrance to bucket. The plastic protective sheathing has nothing to prevent it creeping away from were the cord enters the bucket, exposing where the cord enters the bucket and leaving this portion of the cord a tempting place for the animal to chew. The electric cord and internals are not reparable. The heating element and cord entrance are "sealed" with common clear silicone cure, like bathtub caulk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Works great. Kind of heavy when full. Wish there was a smaller size to use in the chicken coop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had mine for 3 years I've had this bucket for 3 years now. Stays outside uncovered in the winter. Going to buy another one. It kicks on when the Temps drop so it's not running constantly. I also like the black rubber, it soaks up the warmth from the sun and is very durable. I put warm water in it in the morning for my 2 goats and mini donkey. Never freezes even when we get snow. Hope my new one is just as good, I'm kind of shocked by the poor reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed I give this bucket a 1 because it did keep the water from freezing when it worked... we bought 4 of these buckets and 3 are ruptured and unusable....we are very unhappy with them...we have had a mild winter and they have only been used a few times...you can imagine my dismay when I discovered the bottom had pushed in and the heating element was full of water....we could not initially figure out why they were tripping the breakers....yes they do have a one year warrenty but sadly we did not keep the receipt....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bucket and it took a beating Great bucket going on a full year with it and no issues. My mare loved it all winter long and it kept her water from freezing over.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought Two Today & Do Not Work! I bought two of these buckets for my Pygmy goats. I liked the rubber design to hopefully prevent cracking from the weather. I have been messing with them for five hours and they are still not getting warm. I followed the directions, checked my power source, and still have no idea why they won't heat up. There's ice across the top already. Hoping it doesn't completely freeze tonight I transferred my goldfish from the stock tank to them for the winter. Very unhappy about this product and do not recommend. Back to square one, I didn't want to put a floating deicer because the amount of watts it pulls but at least those worked last winter!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended Plugged this in and it didn't heat up. Dumped water out and dried it to bring back to store. I noticed water leaking out. Dried it out again and by the time I got to the store I had to pour water out. Dried it again and while getting a refund the clerk and I noticed more water leaking out. Would not recommend this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately, I would not recommend these buckets I bought 3 of these buckets and used them for approximately 1 week. When scrubbing the buckets, I noticed there was water trapped somewhere in the bucket. With the next scrubbing I noticed the same thing, only this time, some of the trapped water leaked out as I was moving the bucket around to clean it....it smelled like swamp water. This trapped water issue occured with all 3 buckets which I had purchased brand new. This must have been why the horses weren't drinking much from them. Tractor Supply was very accommodating and gracious and gave me full store credit for my return. I don't like to give negative reviews, but I would honestly not want someone to have to experience the same issue I did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work I bought this last year and went to use it this year and it doesn't work. Cleaned it and put it away over the summer and pulled it out last week and it didn't work. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sucks This bucket doesn't work if the temperature gets below 25 degrees. Went out to feed dog and there was a 1" hole in the 1" thick ice @25degrees

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this less than a month ago and am returning it. The water is frozen across the top already even though the bucket is inside anninsulated chicken coop and the temp is only 6 below. Going back to my old buckets and hope they work one more winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mine work I used three of these buckets last winter and did not have any problems. We had temps well below freezing (11 degrees) and my buckets were fine sitting on the ground outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from going on my 3rd yr same bucket Just read other reviews and was surprised at negativity. Can only speak for myself but I bought this 2 yrs ago and am going to use it again for the 3rd winter. Use it outdoors for my goats, sits right on the frozen ground thru snow n everything and never seen their water freeze, checked it everyday. Trying to find 2 more actually so I can leave one outside for my dogs. Love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I bought two of these in November. Within a month both became misshapen from hanging, and then I noticed the horses would no longer drink from them. Both buckets had gaps between the inner bucket and heating element and water was leaking into the area near the element turning swampy and then mixing with the fresh water. Very bad design. Luckily my store gave me a credit for them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from awful bucket I bought this bucket about a month and a half ago and today my water is froze solid. Do not buy this bucket! Waste of money! And with it being over a month from purchase I am out of luck. Horrible!
Date published: 2014-01-29
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work in really cold weather I bought this bucket less than one month ago and it only work when the temp is at 30 or more, todays high is about 19 and the water is 100% frozen solid. I have the bucket in the barn and I also have a large trough outside that has a heater, the trough is not frozen and the water in about 40 degrees. This bucket is useless. I lost the receipt but will try to return, will find out if TSC is great or not.

what happens after all the water is gone , will it damage the heating element or will it shut off when no water is left in the bucket?

Asked by: kat27
It won't damage the unit. If left out of water for an extended period of time, the heating element will still cycle on and off if below freezing.

Can this be used outside or only inside a stall?

Asked by: Goats468

How warm will it keep water before cycling off ?
