Item Information

This Exaco Vino Rain Barrel is a classy look perfect for your yard. All Graf rain barrels come with a mosquito resistant design as an added benefit since the stored water is not exposed to any daylight. The water stays clean and there no algae development, so these barrels do not need to be cleaned from time to time. The Connector can be closed during the winter. This plastic is unique in that it is 3 layers, which make these units much stronger. Leave the tap open during heavy frost.

During a heavy rain storm, when the barrel gets full, where does the extra water go to. Is there a overflow system design to take the extra water away from the house?

Asked by: Ronnnn
Per Exaco: The rain barrel comes with a diverter kit. This kit has a rubber “collector” which fits inside your gutter downspout and has a pass through in the middle. This pass-through allows large debris to pass by, but also acts as an overflow that is separate from the tank. When there is a heavy rain and the tank becomes full the water will overflow the diverter – any overflow will come out the bottom of your gutter downspout, which you could direct away from the house.

Can this be used for emergency water? If so, what is the food safe rating?

Asked by: akg10315
Per Exaco: No, the VINO is one of the very few rain tanks from Graf which is not rated for safe drinking water. Most of their other units are – but they are more expensive because of it.
