Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Heater This is the second Dyna-Glo heater that I have purchased. We use it to extend our fall seasons on our outdoor patio. The first heaters thermocouple finally failed after 5 years of heavy use. The part was easy to order and replace. I decided to buy a second unit as a back up because we dont want to ever be without one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says it will do and easy set up. Puts out good heat and will need a propane bottle greater than 5 gallons (20#), if used regularly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet top down heating I purchased this a month ago and have used it three times in my garage that is approximately 24 feet by 30 feet. I’m using a standard 20 lb propane tank to feed it. There is no blower on this heater so it is nice and quiet, however, You cannot focus the heat. The heat rises to the ceiling and then slowly pushes the cold air down and out. This works good if your building has a lower ceiling and best if it is insulated but that’s not required. The second time I used it I was working under a car and it was still fairly cold under the cold soaked car, but when I stood up it was much warmer. I should have given it more time to distribute the heat. I’ll use a box fan next time to help circulate the heat. The only negative is that as my garage heated up a layer of moisture covered everything. If you don’t keep it warm enough for long enough then it will re-freeze, but this is probably the same for all heaters like this. Also, the first time I used it there was a pretty bad smell that went away during subsequent uses. I’m pretty sure it was just burning off the manufacturing oils. Overall a great product for its intended use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing will throw some heat. I bought the mid size heater but I probably would have been fine with smaller unit. I used it in a single wide I’m working on. It was 29 degrees inside and I had to shut it off after an hour because it got too hot inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to set up and use This unit with it’s push button start and quick heat will extend my outside patio use by months and will heat up my garage /work shop all through the winter. Great little unit very pleased [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! We bought this for my sons shop. The kerosene one he was using put off bad fumes so we thought this would work better. So far he seems to really like it. It heats his 1500 sq ft shop really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazed We bought this to heat our breezeway; which sits between the house and the garage. This little heater heats my breezeway 15 minutes on low, to hot have to shut it off. I'm planning on heating the garage and breezeway at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple design and works perfectly I've had this for about 3 weeks now and have used it twice to heat a 24x40 garage while I'm finishing the inside, I can go from 32 degrees to 50 degrees in about an hour on low, more than enough btus on this heater for sure haven't had a need to crank it up but it will put out some serious heat

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked Great for a period, Not so much now. I bought this heater at the end of the winter last year and used it several times and it worked great. I have used it multiple times this year without any problems. But now I can only get it to ignite. It will not allow me to turn the knob to keep it lit. Great heater when it works but just a hunk of tin when it doesn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit easy setup Had it up and running in mins... puts out a lot of heat for the size and very light weight. I have it in a 1 car garage with a 14' ceiling.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good heater....bad gas line design! Purchased this heater new and also bought a new propane tank at the same time in the same store. Imagine my surprise when I unpacked the heater from the box and discovered the LP connection on the heater is no longer compatible with the current standard for propane connections. Had to spend another $35 to buy a new propane gas line with the current connection standard to use with my new propane tank.

why does the description say you can hook up to a 20lb tank, yet when answering questions you say to hook it up to at least a 100lb tank? That is confusing!

Asked by: Jessi51
Hello Jessi51, thank you for pointing out a mistake on this product page. This heater can be only be used with a 40 Ib, or 100 Ib propane tank. We will correct this product page. - GHP Group Customer Support

What style of valve does the hose attach to? I will need to purchase a tank but do not know whether to get a 40# or 100# tank and if I get the 100# tank, which valve should get.

Asked by: topperx4
Hello Topperx4, this heater requires a POL fitting (counter clockwise attachment to propane tank) and we recommend a 100 lb. tank for optimal performance. -GHP Group Customer Support

When operating, how loud is the unit? Also, how long will the unit last on a 20lb propane tank?

Asked by: Nic1234
Hello Nic1234, this heater makes a hissing noise due to the gas moving through the gas line and the gas valve. It also makes a burning fire noise that comes from the flame, and you may also hear a clicking noise due to metal expanding and contracting. On the lowest setting this heater will burn about 1 gallon of fuel every 1.83 hours, or about 0.55 gallons per hour. On the highest setting this heater will burn about 1 gallon of fuel every 1.14 hours, or about 0.87 gallons per hour. To prevent performance problems use a propane tank 100 Ibs capacity or greater. According to the vendor, yes it can be used on a painted garage floor, if the paint is NON-COMBUSTIBLE. Almost anything non-combustible can be used under the unit if you do not want to scratch the paint.
