Do I need to give water after feeding milk replacer?

Asked by: Waynn
It is not necessary to bottle feed water after feeding a milk replacer. However, we always recommend animals have access to clean fresh water.

How many servings per bag

Asked by: Psh13
You would use 10 ounces per feeding twice a day. There is a cup included to measure out 10 ounces. You mix the 10 ounces with 2 quarts of water and feed twice a day. There are 800 ounces in the bag. Enough for 40 servings or days.40 Gallons can be made with this bag.

how long will one 50 pound bag last for one calf

Asked by: driftten
There are two feed options available and I have listed them below. The feeding program is for a 100lb calf. For larger breeds we recommend feeding two quarts of prepared reconstituted milk replacer twice a day. For smaller breeds, feeding recommendation is twice daily using 1 ½ - 2 quarts of reconstituted milk replacer. If mixing 10 ounces of powder with two quarts of water, then one 50lb bag will make almost 80 bottles/feedings. If mixing with 12 ounces of powder with two quarts of water, then one 50lb bag will make about 67 bottles/feeding. The 12 oz. feeding option is an accelerated feeding program.

How many cups, of the included cup, for the replacer do you mix into 2 quarts of water?

Asked by: Lf97
The user uses the provided cup to make 2 quarts of finished product for the animal. If feeding a smaller breed; its recommended 1 ½ quarts to 2 quarts they will provide this feeding 2 times per day. Usually morning and evening. To make the finished product, 1 ½ quarts = 1 cup of powdered milk replacer mixed with 2 quarts of warm water. If only feeding 1 ½ quart of finished product, then the user will have ½ quart of liquid milk replacer left. If feeding all 2 quarts to the calf, then there will not be any liquid milk replacer left. The mixing directions is for one calf.

Can this be fed to veal calves?

Asked by: farmergal90
Milk-fed veal calves are generally fed low-iron diets to keep their meat light in color. This milk replacer contains normal levels of iron, so in feeding the product it will produce meat that is red in color. The product meets all the requirements growing calves need, so it will provide all the nutrition calves need for maintenance and growth. It is up to the calf raiser to know what their goals are for meat color once the animal is harvested. If he/she would like “white” meat from milk-fed veal calves they should look for a veal-specific, low iron formula. If they are ok with red meat, then this product is recommended. This product is medicated with Bovatec for the control of coccidiosis, but does not require a withdrawal like antibiotics do.
