Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't smell like alfalfa First bag I got was the Standlee brand on the advice of the TSC associate. My milking cow loved it. Figured what could be so different about the Dumor brand. Got 3 bags. Opened the first bag- smelled like seaweed, not like alfalfa at all. The second bag smelled like fuel. By the third bag was used to it. Soon's finished those three bags I went back to the suggested Standlee brand alfalfa/Timothy cubes. Not gonna try another bag of the Dumor.

What's the percentage of the mixture, alfalfa to timothy? Is it 50/50?

Asked by: Brit22
Due to the need to meet the minimum requirements on protein and other analysis, the percentages can very slightly on occasion. Our manufacturers use 60% alfalfa / 40% timothy through their blending mills as the standard for our cubes.

How much should be fed per horse per day?

Asked by: Debby196
A typical mature horse will eat around 3% of its body weight per day, on a dry matter bases. So, for a 1000 pound horse that is around 30#. This might vary from 25# to 33# based on age, activity and breed. A typical diet would be 2 to 5 pounds of formulated feed and the rest in quality pasture or hay.
