Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stuff! I've bought this many times over the past 5 years for larger chicks - up to about 18 weeks. Does the job - they grow up to be healthy chickens. They eat it and like it. No complaints. Buy with confidence!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok feed if it's not gone bad like mine was I gave this three stars because the store let me return it. About a couple Scoops in I noticed some clumps. Chickens started to eat it but then stopped and noticed more and more clumps and then strings of webs. This must have been sitting around a while as in had gone bad. I have only bought it about 10 days prior. I was able to return the rest of it which was about 3/4 for a full refund. Don't know if this is good feed as I didn't have it long enough to tell.

Does this contain acs, and should eggs not be eaten if the chicks are still on this feed

Asked by: Debchick
There are no medications added to the Grower/Finisher, so any eggs can be eaten. It is recommended to switch to a Laying product if the birds are laying age. It has added calcium to support egg shell production. Without the higher calcium level, they may get thin shelled eggs, eggs with no shell (just the membrane), or the calcium may be drawn from the hens bones, causing brittle bones.

I got a new batch of chicks this spring. Is it okay to feed this to my older chickens until the chicks can go on the layer feed?

Asked by: SassyShadow123
You can feed the Starter to the older chickens but you should be careful they don’t gain too much weight because it will make it harder for the hens to lay eggs.

Does this float on a lake or pond?

Asked by: Lkw0719
It isn’t made to float on the water and probably will sink quickly. Needs to go with a duck product that will float.
