Guaranteed Analysis: Crude Protein (min.) 18.00%, Crude Fat (min.) 3.00%, Crude Fiber (max.) 8.00%, Acid Detergent Fiber(ADF) (max.) 10.00%, What is the source of the protein and fat? and why Detergent fiber?

Asked by: Alberta Diane
The primary source of protein is from dehulled soybean meal. This product also contains cottonseed meal. The primary source of fat is soybean oil. Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) is the measure of least digestible plant components, including cellulose and lignin. Forages with higher ADF are lower in digestible energy than forages with lower ADF. ADF is the residue remaining after boiling a forage sample in acid detergent solution. ADF is often used to calculate digestibility, total digestible nutrients (TDN) and/or net energy for lactation (NEl).

Will this be dangerous to equine

This product is not recommended for horse consumption. Cattle feed products are often manufactured in the same facilities as products with medications that toxic for horses. Even if a product does not include ingredients that are harmful to horses, there is a risk of cross-contamination.
