Rated 5 out of 5 by from My DR Trimmer mower is awesome. I don’t know what I would do without my DR Trimmer mower.
Date published: 2018-10-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from dependable high wheeled trimmer I have 24 acres and have to mow half of it. My acreage is only growing rocks. I average 1 1/2 trimmers in a three year period. Since I can set the trimmer cutting string at at 3 1/2 inch cut setting I can trim above most of the rocks that continuely cut my string. I have been using the DR trimmer all this month and I have yet to change the string. This is the best trimmer I have ever had! I have had many of best brands like Sears, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great trimmer bought as a second hand, person purchased and couldn't get to work right (rotor head turned slowly) #1. Had too many strings on the rotor head, #2. belt was off the head and no tension. #3. Original purchaser probably did not refer to operators manual after purchase, I ended up with a great deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why carry heavy weedeater. Makes weed removal easy and gives you more time for fishing
Date published: 2018-09-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs great It cuts the weeds. Good and steady. Has made a great difference
Date published: 2018-09-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Investment After researching different brands, I went with DR and I'm glad I did! Great machine that does more than advertised. I've cleared brush up to 5/8" without a problem. Also better than my trimmer for the grass. Selling my trimmer and push mower as they are no longer needed. The DR and and my lawn tractor is all I need now. I see many negative reviews of these and I think people were using them beyond their intended use.
Date published: 2018-09-12
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed The integrity of the machines seemed very sound, built higher gauge steel, the premise that it had 6.75 hp sounded awesome with high expectations! HOWEVER... as i used the machine it bogged down as i mowed grass and weeds. I did not expect this to occur on this piece of hardware at the price paid. Ultimately, i was very disappointed. I plan on returning it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok but not as good as I was expecting String breaks too easily. Would have preferred power start. Need to carry that option.
Date published: 2018-09-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid for routine weed and brush mowing Used it several times so far and am very satisfied.
Date published: 2018-09-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and durable trimmer..... I bought this trimmer to maintain around a large amount of trees and shrubs. It works as we had hoped and seems quite reliable. We've run it for around four hours and feel that is a adequate test to determine durability and ease of use. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to move away from a traditional trimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great walk behind This thing once put together right is a beast, it chews through 6ft tall weeds with ease. I bought this already put together from Tractor Supply. The clutch wasn’t fully engaging, it wasn’t adjusted properly, and the trimmer string was put in backwards, I had to take the head apart to get the string out of it.
Date published: 2018-09-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as shown Bought it to cut tall grass ( 2 - 3 ft tall ) on part of my 1 1/2 acre lot. Works great, easy start, and easy to prep the string. I was also able to get into areas my push mower could not do ( rocky area ).
Date published: 2018-09-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trimmer Great trimmer for along my roadside ditch, but the belt failed the first time I used it. Went back to Tractor Supply for a new one and a spare. They did NOT have one! Ended up at NAPA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great New Toy For Me I have been looking at all different brands of these but decided on this one because of all of the reviews I had read about it. It works great better then I thought it would, so happy I decided on this one.
Date published: 2018-09-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It We’ve only had it a few weeks, but so far it has not let us down. My boyfriend is the primary user, but I’ve been very pleased with how easy it is to start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the choices for cutting height It has been a very useful tool to keep everything trimmed around our buildings. I liked it so much, I bought one for my daughter who lives on an acreage too.
Date published: 2018-08-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No such luck! Bought it tried it wouldn't cut kept slipping belt tried tightening it, tried everything and it still wouldn't work right. Don't know if I just got a defective one but I returned it. Got my money back! It's all good!
Date published: 2018-08-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from No power Exchanged from cub cadet that wouldn't start on 2nd use and got this for$100 more. Returned both.Cadet had more power.
Date published: 2018-08-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing machine I purchased the cub cadet version prior to the DR. The DR. Is hands down the better machine. Cuts through thicker vegetation while keeping strings attached. Love this machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! So happy with this equipment, a lot easier than a weed eater!
Date published: 2018-08-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only way to go Been using for years. Thats why i stayed. Not real impressed with the head but no problem s with machine
Date published: 2018-08-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little machine! At first wasn’t too impressed. But then once tightened a belt it became the awesome little machine I expected!! Makes taking care of your property better. Since it is on wheels it sure takes pressure off shoulders and back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DR Trimmer/Mower We bought this and it worked great the first 2 hours and then quit cutting. It was made to work on heavy grass and blackberrys. I was kind of disappointed with it when it quit cutting, I have thought about taking it back. I live on acerage and rely on the product to do the job!
Date published: 2018-07-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not like they used to build I had a DR trimmer for over 20 years. A real work horse. Would almost mow down a forest. It finally hit the junk heap. This new one is a joke. It is so under powered that I actually thought something was wrong with it or that I couldn't get it into the proper rpm. No, it is just that it is a toy, not a serious mower.
Date published: 2018-06-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible purchase. Don’t buy Worked for one season. Won’t start the next. Should have never bought it.
Date published: 2018-05-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work horse! I purchased this trimmer 1 year ago to trim tall weeds along my farm fence. It is a mean weed eater! I have a steep ditch that I mow and have flipped it upside down. It just keeps on ticking! It starts every time and I have not had any problems. I did purchase a roll of trimmer cord directly from DR. Keep the cords changed when worn. I use it around my trees and curbs on my lawn and garden instead of my weedeater because it is very easy on the back and has more power. A great tool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Purchased this last year. Probably has 4 hours on it. took it out this year. New Gas., oil correct. Will not start. Put new plug in - nothing. There are zero adjustments. I have never purchased a gas motor machine that you could not tinker with. Will have to take into shop - ridiculous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk We bought one of these trimmers. It is a piece junk! We used it 3 times and had to take it for repairs. When we got it back I started it up and it shot out all the oil out of where the strings go. Now it's a lawn ornament. It's sad to pay so much money for some thing we can NOT use!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great yard tool I purchased this trimmer to take care of tall weeds growing on my 5 acres. It is easy to push and maneuver and makes quick work of the weeds. The only difficulty is with tall clumps of grass, which it struggled to cut. Overall very happy with this trimmer.
Date published: 2016-07-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money spent! The DR Trimmer works better than advertsised! It easily cuts through all the bramble on the farm. My only regret is that I wish I had purchased it years ago!!!

What is the size of the line?  Can a heavier line be used?

Asked by: SusanPL
In the box it comes with a green 155mm line and a blue 175mm line. A quick-lock head can be purchased which will make switching wire even easier and allow for 225mm serrated line.
