I ordered two pair of these from 2 different places to replace a pair i had that were coming apart on the inside. The description says the shaft is 14 1/2 " in. They are at the top opening but narrow down to less than 13 at the ankle so my foot wont go down in the boot. My old pair measures 14 1/2 all the way from the top down to the ankle. I love my old boots but these new ones are not the same. The leather isnt even the same. My old boots have a grain. The new ones are slick. My old boots were made in China. The new ones are made in India.

Not what I expected. The previous pair of these boots had a cowboy-type heel. This has a straight workboot-type heel. The leg portion (slouch) isn't as long (extended) as the previous pair. And finally, the toe isn't as shapely; it is round, very round, like a work boot. In short, these boots don't look at all like a dress-up boot. They look like a work boot. They also look extremely fragile. The very thin pig hide on the foot portion looks like it will tear or crack if looked at sideways. I really should take them back and may yet. On the positive side, they are comfortable. The previous manufacturer of this slouch boot was Acme and they no longer exist.

He will only buy these boots about every 3 years. He wears them daily and they are comfy.
