Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay...he're an idea! I've had a Cub Cadet RZT50 for 9 years. Had the Kawi motor on it. Never let me down. I wore the deck out long before the motor was ready to quit. I could mow my yard on a full tank and almost half of the tank would be left. 2.5 acres in my new mower takes almost a whole tank. My new mower has the Kohler engine, which is new to me. If they knew this was going to use more gas, why wouldn't they put a bigger tank on it? When I was mowing my yard for the second time, the hour meter said it took me over 8 hours to do so. Usually takes me about one and a half. Glad the hours don't matter on the warranty. The seat switch is extremely sensitive. I could get adjusted in my old RZT50 without shutting down the deck. I really have to be careful to make sure I don't do that on my new mower. Beyond that, the mowing performance is excellent. We mow about 7 acres total. It really cuts the grass well and throws it out of the deck. Plenty of power, also. I'm not concerned about speed, but it can move pretty well if you need it to. I just wish the gas tank was bigger, or it got as good fuel economy as the Kawasaki motor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased so far - only owned this unit for 1 month Wish the gas tank were larger (my old ZTR had 5 gallon tank). Reverse stops the cutters but they do not restart automatically when I move forward (like my old ZTR did). I have to turn the PTO switch off and back on to restart the mower after going in reverse. I've had a bit of trouble with the deck height adjustment staying put. The pin provided has slipped out a couple times allowing the deck to go all the way up once and all the way down once while mowing. I'm still contemplating what kind of pin to get and replace the one supplied. At full speed, cutting quality diminishes - does not cut clean and even. The owners manual says that cutting at full speed may affect the cutting quality adversely. This is a disappointment. I'm still able to cut faster than with a previously owned JD 100 series lawn tractor, but no faster than my 2007 Cub Cadet ZTR 50. I wish they would add a transmission temperature indicator of some type to help one know when they are in danger of damaging the transmission. The fabricated deck seems to catch much less grass clippings than my previous ZTR which had a pressed deck. Way too early to give a complete review or recommend this unit to anyone. So far, I'm mostly pleased with the unit but definitely wish I could cut at full speed and still get a high quality cut.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun and fast once I get it started This mower has saved me so much time. I really enjoy mowing with it . But I have some gripes. - First, when starting the deck and the engine is not hot it will stall the engine even after going to full throttle. Had the dealer look at it and they adjusted throttle. But it still stalls the engine when I start the deck. - The key should be heavier as it feels like it could break the next time I start it. - I think they should use different plastic covering as it seems to attract the dirt and is hard to clean. - I would also like a trap door in the floor to aid in cleaning and service. - Grippier tires would help as the tires spin easier which does slow me down on turns.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine Ive purchased my first cub cadet over 10 years ago. It was a zero turn and cut my mowing time almost in half. Loved it so much purchased another one a few years ago. Have to say the older one seems to cut better but very happy with both machines

What type of shocks or spring suspension does the Cub Cadet have between the mower frame

Asked by: DennisL
There is no suspension built into the frame on these mowers. The high quality seat and the turf tires absorb a great deal of the bumps in the yard. Thanks so much for the question.
