Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk. So this mower has no choke or primer bulb. It won't start unless you spray starting fluid in the air housing. This auto start stuff is a scam.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this mower I bought this mower from Tractor Supply in September, 1 1/2 yrs ago, and had heard Cub Cadet was a good brand. Brought it home, put together, added oil, added fresh fuel, started on 1st pull and cut some 5 inch tall wet grass in the front yard. Did a great job! Contunued to do well for the remainder of the season. Last cut of the year, added some Sta-bil, and ran the mower out of gas. Drained oil, added fresh, and stored for winter. Next spring, changed spark plug, added fuel, checked oil, started on 3rd pull. Over the next month, he problems began. It became harder to start each time, and then started cutting off. Well I noticed that one of the bolts that hds the muffler on was missing, and since there is carb/choke linkage attached to the muffler assembly, that was the issue. I replaced the missing bolt, and while better, was not as good as it was last season. I continued to deal the with the hard to start, and frequent stLling, and due to the additional pulling to start, the cord broke. I fixed that, and then noticed that the plastic part the holds the front wheels, was coming loose from the metal deck. Again, the muffler bolts came out, this time, the muffler fell completely off. This is a peice of junk. I do not reccomend to purchase. Also, when it was running well before the issues began, the bag is worthless, and will not hold tight to the mowere when mulching leaves in the fall. It blows out between the bag and the back of the mower. Not only that, but the bolts that mount the engine to the deck are loose and moter will move inside holes. I have tightened those down several times, but they continue to come loose. I ran it out off gas today, and will be taking it to the scrap yard. Highly dissapointed. Will not buy any Cub Cadet branded product ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Push Mower This is my 2nd Cub Cadet (still have the first one, I use it for a piece of property I own). Cuts well and have had no issues. This one has the big rear wheels so it is easier to push. I do recommend it.

My lawnmower will start for about 5 seconds and then shut off. I would like some suggestions to try. I rarely used it. So it's still in excellent condition.

Is this mower a variable speed or just one speed

Asked by: Bruno8
Hello Bruno8. This is a push mower not a self-propelled mower so this unit only goes at the speed in which you push it. Thank you for your question.

Does the SC 100 come equipped with a fuel valve to shut off flow of gasoline to the carburetor? The PDF manual mentions a fuel valve but then qualifies that by stating "if equipped".

Asked by: raizin
No, the fuel line runs uninterrupted from tank to carburetor.

What brand of engine and HP OUTPUT

Asked by: HALLERTT
Hello. Our SC 100 HW Push Mower has an Cub Cadet Powermore engine. Variations in rotary engine testing specifications over the years has resulted in vague and inconsistent engine horsepower measurement and the standard of engine horsepower. Horsepower rating relates to various engine-driven product applications and is inconsistent between engine manufacturers and the final product manufactures. As a result, the engine manufacturer measures this particular engine by cc’s, which is measured by the displacement of the engine’s cylinder bore. There is no direct mathematical conversion to calculate engine horsepower to engine displacement. This engine is 159cc. Thank you for your question!

What is the horsepower rating for this mower?
