Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Horse! I have 670+ hours on mine. Has never let me down. Early summer when fertlizer is working it could use a few more ponies, blades need sharpening alot & the hand controls would be nice if they were under the hand holds. Those are the only cons to this mower. If you need to get real work done, this ia the mower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a piece of garbage!!! I bought the mover and the bagger. Got home to ready to set it up to mow the yard. The bagger was missing half the parts. Ok no problem will call and have them send the missing parts. On to mowing the grass. With 0.4 of an hour in the power drive breaks. Parts fall off! Called Cub Cadet this morning on hold for 45 minutes. Starting to think their QC is really for garbage. Finally got to a person and they were beyond no help. All they could say was I could take it back or take it of get it fixed. What a joke. Will be taking it back for a refund!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Mower Had mine for 8 years. It is very reliable. My kids used it to mow neighbor lawns 5 years ago so it got a lot of use. I would recommend this mower. I had to replace the height adjustment lever twice but that is because i would bang it up against low tree branches. Not sure if the design on that could be changed? Right now two mower deck mounts are broken so I am debating to to have the deck replaced for 400 dollars or buy a new one. Not really sure why they broke. It may have been when my wife hit a big rock and maybe weaken them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunate Bought mine at TSC May 13 2018 and was really quite happy. After a few hours of mowing (about 3 times ) By June 1st it need to be serviced as it turns out it had jumped time and the blades ended up colliding as a result the tension pulley had bent. I promise that I have not abused this mower. I will say that my yard isn't a flat city lot. The cost of the repair was minimal and as expected citing user damage warranty refused to cover because of some Dings in the blades. The service company was even surprised with the refusal. As I understand it can be common to loose the timing I have now filed a claim with the extended service plan ( also purchased at TSC ) We will see how that goes. It just seems to be that it would've been easier just to return it to the store than to try an get it repaired.

I purchased this model last week at Tractor Supply. Used it for the first time today. Mower cuts fine on flat surface. When we try to cut a hillside going Left to Right works just fine. When we reverse the direction mower smokes like crazy. Any Help?

Asked by: Dan66
Hello. The machine more than likely has too much oil in it for it to be cutting on a hillside. I would recommend keeping the oil midway filled, when cutting on hillside. Thank you for your question.

I’ve owned this walk behind for about a year now, and I noticed the front castors get tight and don’t swivel half the time. I’ve added plenty of grease. Any other suggestions?

Asked by: BobbyBurns
We just recommend keep the castors clean and lubricated. If they are free of debris, have not had any damage and are well lubricated, they should operate great. You can have an authorized Cub Cadet service center take a look at them to make sure there is no defect in parts or workmanship. Thanks so much for the question.

how many horse power does this mower have

Asked by: Fredrick
Hello Fredrick. The Cub Cadet 33 in. Wide Area Mower has a 420cc engine. We specify engine size and capacity using engine displacement, because it is a highly reliable and consistent way to describe an engine’s capacity. We do not provide horsepower ratings in connection with the engines we utilize. NOTE: There is no direct mathematical conversion to calculate engine horsepower from engine displacement. Thank you for your question.
