Rated 5 out of 5 by from This model has power to spare I bought the unit in February when we started getting serious snow storms and heavy rain mixed. The unit performed perfectly even in the tough slushy snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rough beginning, nice result I bought this one assembled after my old one died with a storm on the way. Morning after the storm, it started up, but the drive system didn't work. Checked assembly and it looked ok. Talked to TSC and arranged an exchange. The second one worked like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use So glad I updated my snow blower, this cub cadet is more powerful and easier to use. Now when snow hits I know I have the equipment I need to clear my driveway as well as paths to get supplies in and out of my barn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Snow Blower I only got to use it once so far, but it worked great. The power steering was nice. It had plenty of power to throw heavier wet snow, almost to much power. It was launching it into my neighbors drive way if it didn’t turn down the shoot adjustment. It started nice, ran nice, only a little bogged down when it got to the pile at the end of the driveway. My only small complaint is the shoot doesn’t rotate far enough to either side. It’s probably in the discription, but it only does like 180 degrees at best. I wish it could throw slightly more than a 180 degree angle so the snow goes behind you a little so aren’t throwing snow where you’ve already cleared at driveway and sidewalk intersections. Make sure to read the manual and use the right gas and storage procedure. Overall a good machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best blower for price This was to replace a 20 year old Ariens blower that I was repairing all the time (bi-weekly). I have a very steep and about 120 foot driveway. I originally wished I had the time to wait and money for the tracked 3 stage version. But in New England you never now when your next snow is coming..... or how much. Right after I bought this I had ~5" of heavy wet snow within 24 hours. This thing embarrassed my old blower with is ability to handle and throw it far, even the plow banks. I also go through the woods to clear a path to the shed and some of the backyard for my dogs. This thing handles it all with grace. On my old blower I had weights to keep the front down and chains on the tires. The tires on this are incredible, well balanced weight, and the shoes don't mark up the driveway like old one. For the price there isn't a better snow blower out there IMHO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great snowblower This was my very first snowblower I have bought. I've used other brands of snowblower before when I borrowed neighbors but they definitely did not have the power this one has. I like the guards on the bottom too because it doesn't allow you to get to absolute ground level, where you'd be throwing dirt or rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cub cadet snow blower 2x 24in. 2 stage we bought this right before the last big snow storm, it performed to our expectations and more, would recommend this highly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Tips! Engine Protection 101 from No more snow Make sure to let the snow thrower warm up and reach operating temperature, otherwise it will shake when you try to engage the augers. Be watchful not to leave it on ‘choke’ for more than 5 minutes—while talking to the neighbors—while waiting for the snow blower to reach operating temperature! It will eat up all your gasoline very fast. That’s because the choke is designed to cut off air to the carburetor, to aid you with starting the machine (former Saturday mechanic). We call this “the gas or fuel is rich”, because while the choke is on, it is low in air, and because the fuel is going in richer than the air. Because ‘combustion’ needs air, it needs to get air from somewhere, so it will try to get it through where the gasoline enters the combustion chamber, from the carburetor, which is where the gasoline enters—essentially turning it into a suctioning tube—sucking in the gasoline at a much faster rate. The choke is only to be used to start the engine and during engine warm up, and aids or helps to keep down the RPM (revolutions per minute), by slowing down how fast the engine turns. That ‘slowing down’ of the engine, protects it from seizing (which is what we call ‘damaging the engine’), since the oil will be thick because the oil is still cold, so slow to flow, and this time is when the engine is most vulnerable. That’s the function of oil; to lubricate and to protect your engine, of course. So wait a few minutes before removing the choke, so you won’t damage the engine while the lubricant [oil] is reaching operating temperature—so it can flow. So during those few minutes, say 5 minutes, avoid running the engine at full speed. Thankfully, the choke will make sure anyway, that the engine won’t run at full speed, but only while the choke is engaged. Once the engine has reached operating temperature, 5 minutes, it is safe to remove the choke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Needed This Winter After years of shoveling, we finally broke down or should I say the winter broke us down, and purchased this snowblower. It was recommended by Tractor Supply Co employee and we have not been disappointed. It handles well. Starts beautifully and clears a lot of snow. Very glad we bought it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice machine. Electric start is awesome! Bought this snow blower at the start of March. Tried pull start several times, and moved on to electric start. An extension cord will follow this machine around forever, very nice feature. Needs a little time to acclimate to the controls, but all the directions are on the machine itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Machine Bought the 2x 524 just before the bomb cyclone in the Rocy Mountains because the old one broke down. Got it fully assembled. Put in some ethanol free gas and away we go! This machine dispatched the heavy wet snow about 15 feet with no problems! Easy 1-2 pull start with hardly any effort. It also has an electric start. An easy turn radius with the power steering triggers makes moving it up and down the driveway a breeze. This 2x is perfect for the neighborhood driveway and sidewalk. You wont be disappointed if you purchase. I highly recommend. Happy snowblowing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good machine! Worked flawlessly the couple time I used it this winter. Only downfall is the smaller engine so a wet heavy snow could be difficult. Regardless it can get the job done.
Date published: 2019-03-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly. Easy to operate I was surprised with the power of this machine. happy with the distance that it throws the snow. small enough to handle and big enough to do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power steering & driving wheels! Easy for women! Power Steering! Multiple forward and 2 reverse speeds! My wife loves it! It’s so easy— once she got the hang of it! No more lifting heavy snow. There’s a learning curve to remember the main controls; auger, forward/reverse, turning left/right. Tip: Don’t let wet snow freeze. Keep and eye on temperatures by the hour. Get out there before it’s 32F (freezing point) or below. No snow thrower can help you with frozen snow ❄️ snow ⛄️. Bunch up wet snow and don’t stop moving; wet snow is heavy, so it needs momentum. So don’t let the snow thrower stop until you get to the end of your driveway. Backing up saves the hassle of having to repoint the snow blower shoot, so you and the machine are already in position to just move to the next row.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine saved us!! We anticipated a big snow storm which did come- but we were finally prepared!! Our Snow removal man retired and we were left stranded with no equipment of our own! Just before the storm, we were helped by the wonderful staff at the Winchester ,Va. TSC Store. They even tested it and loaded it for us! The machine operates perfectly and all the features function as intended! Thanks TSC for all you did! We love our Cub Cadet Snowblower. The Sullivan Family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works really good through tough snow used this 8 times now and i am satisfied on how it still runs like it did the first time. this machine seems to me that it will continue to run strong. works good through slushy snow not just powder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its job Works very well. Bought it put together, obviously, and the chute only spun halfway, but it was the simplest fix. Would buy again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak and poorly built I purchased this snowblower a couple of months ago and have had consistent problems, mostly with the thrower mechanism(s). First, it started shaking before it stopped working altogether. The left lever (which activates the thrower) no longer works. I expect it's a broken or disconnected cable. Unfortunately, the closest authorized service is 25 to 30 miles away. I will never buy equipment like this that the seller cannot handle when there's a problem so soon after purchase. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cub Cadet 2-stage snow blower is a winner. This is an awesome snowblower. The electric start is really nice, but it also has an easy pull start that requires little effort. Some other very nice features on this machine is a power steering handles which allows one wheel to disengage and the other one keeps turning. It really makes it easy to turn the machine on a dime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to start! My old snow blower is moribund, so I checked out blowers at a few dealers in town, and TSC had the one I was looking for and great financing. I am very happy with the blower, especially its ease of starting manually.

Which CC two stage blowers have heated grips & what is an electric/mitten recoil starter?

Asked by: Phil20
Hello Phil20, unfortunately none of our current two stage snow blowers will have the heated grips as standard equipment. They are an optional accessory. Electric/mitten recoil refers to the fact that it will have electric start as well as a recoil starter with a different style oval-shaped handle in case you are wearing mittens. Thank you for your questions!

Why no warranty on the auger gearbox, at all? Is there an issue with the gears, casing, or...? Should be built well enough, the manufacturer isn't afraid to warranty them, like the rest of the machine. That's all that's stopped me from buying one already.

Asked by: kaylhs1
Helloo kaylhs1. Cub Cadet warrants the auger gearbox against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years, commencing on the date of the snow thrower's original purchase. Thank you for your question.
