Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cub cadet 2x 24in snow blower This snow blower is a beast. I used it for the first time today. It got through a thick pile of snow at the end of my driveway. It was easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good power, chute is junk I bought this last year. It has plenty of power and really throws snow. The problem is the chute. I can’t get it to rotate more than 90 degrees and the second time I used it the chute cracked, now snow sprays out.

Have 524 swe tires are 15x5-6 lousy traction. What chains are appropriate? Cost?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Dick1jig. The Cub Cadet 2X 524 SWE Two-Stage Power Snow Thrower utilizes X-Trac tires. These tires were designed so that tire chains were not needed. We currently do not have chains compatible with these tires. Thank you for your question.

I'm 5'2" & 55+. It's getting difficult securing snow removal in my area, but since August, it's been difficult getting help w/ locating a CC snow blower to see IF I can even operate it & if I have it shipped to the store, how do "I" get it out of my SUV?

Asked by: Swarmie1
Tractor Supply can order one for you to be delivered to your home. If it is a really small, light model like a single stage, it will be delivered by UPS. If it is a larger, heavier one like a big 2 or 3 stage, it will be delivered on a truck with a liftgate. Thanks for the question.

How much does the cub cadet 2x 24 weigh?

Asked by: Ed on the hill
Hi Ed. Our 2X 24" Snow Thrower weighs 248 lbs. Thank you for your question!

Does any of these have battery.

Asked by: Tjsweeney
I am assuming that you are asking if the electric start has a battery available (like on some lawnmowers) so you don't have to use an extension cord to use the electric starter. No, none of our snow throwers have batteries to run the electric start. Thanks for the question.

How slow is first gear at full RPM? Does it crawl along? DOnt want on ethat goes to fast in wet heavy snow and rides over the top or clogs

Asked by: JT the cub cadet fan
Hello JT the cub cadet fan. The chute is a high-impact and clog-resistant chute so that shouldn't be an issue. The drive is positive traction so it doesn't crawl. Thank you for your question.

What is the horsepower, my current Craftsman is 5.5 horsepower and doesn’t do the job. My neighbors is 14.5 horsepower and does amazing work.

Asked by: Mikel T
Hello Mike, variations in engine testing specifications over the years have resulted in vague and inconsistent horsepower measurements. Horsepower rating relates to various engine-driven product applications and is inconsistent between engine manufacturers and the final product that is manufactured using that engine. Because of that inconsistency, the engine manufacturer rates this engine by CC’s (cubic centimeters), which is measured by the displacement of the engine’s cylinder bore. There is no direct mathematical conversion to calculate engine horsepower to engine displacement. Thank you for your question.

Thank you for your answer regarding the warranty on your snow blowers. I find that information on your warranty (pdf), for your 3 stage snow blowers, but not for 2 stage ones. is this an oversight, old warranty information, or? Thank you.

Asked by: kaylhs1
Hello kaylhs1. Cub Cadet warrants this product against defects and material and workmanship for a period of three (3) years commencing on the date of original purchase. Warranty service is available, WITH PROOF OF PURCHASE, through your local authorized service dealer. Thank you for your question.

I want to be clear about this snowblower #444864099....I need to know if it’s self-propelled, if it has power steering, and how many horsepower it is. Thank you

Asked by: Wanda64
Yes, this unit is self propelled. Yes, it has trigger controlled power steering to make tight, quick turns easy. As for Horsepower, since a company got sued a few year ago, many engine manufacturers have switched to just listing cubic centimeters (CC) as the engine size. We are only allowed to quote what is listed. Thanks for the question. Here is some more information about cc vs hp... Variations in engine testing specifications over the years have resulted in vague and inconsistent horsepower measurements. Horsepower rating relates to various engine-driven product applications and is inconsistent between engine manufacturers and the final product that is manufactured using that engine. Hello, I assume the auger is belt driven, generally, how long will the belt last.? I have had problems with other manufacturers machines where the auger belt will not necessarily break but it will stretch and therefore, will not throw snow.

Asked by: 23451
Hello 23451. The auger is belt driven. It is very difficult to determine how long the belt will last. There are too many variations of factors that would help determine how long a belt will last that this question is impossible to determine. Thank you for your question.
